BB Seafood Village @ Subang Airport

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , , | Posted On Sunday, March 7, 2010 at 10:58 PM

The very last time I travel to this area was my college times, as we visit this place quite frequently for the western food and seafood as we find the seafood was relatively cheap, it was not until last month when my best friend Tatt came down for his business trip also treat us for his birthday before he went back. One thing that I know that the Subang Airport now had transform till very nice and I really wish that on that time it was operate by Airasia when they very first started(for convenience wise).

I guess the restaurant that I ate is no longer at the same place as and had move as then I still remember that it was very next to the western food (Papa and Mama Grill).

BB Seafood

BB Seafood (2)

A very classic type of seafood restaurant build with atap and set with wooden and plastic chairs.

BB Seafood (3)

The very first order came by was 'Clear Fried Clamp' RM16 which I find it very aromatic with the slices of ginger taste had cover the clamp very well to overpower the smell of it and fried it very nice as we enjoy it very much.

BB Seafood (5)

'Stir Fried 3 Mix Bean with Dry Shrimp' that had makes me thought that what a simple dish it is but that proves me wrong always as simple dish is always nice which is very hard to cook, and the vegetable are very fresh with the beans are very crispy, ladies finger is very soft and abit gammy that the small shrimp saltiness is just right. RM 15

BB Seafood (6)

I would say this is the best of all, 'Mongolian Pork' which is deep fried yet the meat in it is very soft and was shower with the abit spicy, creamy and sour sauce on it. Goes very well with rice as every one is fighting for it. RM18 Its good and worth a try.

BB Seafood (7)

'Steam Fish' fish is rather normal as steam with soy sauce but the meat is soft that shows the sign of freshness. RM24

BB Seafood (8)

'Salted duck Egg Crab' I have never tried crab in salted duck egg version, turns out to be very shell licking good as I keep aiming to eat the left over small pieces of duck egg and the crab was fried in wok that make it all stick around the crab to very aromatic. RM 68

It was a great meal treated by Tatt as convenient for him to fly off after that and in that month itself he celebrated his b’day more than 5 times.

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , , , , , | Posted On Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 8:10 AM

We life once in our life and I always mention to my friend live to the fullest, it is not an easy task to find someone we love and cherish to share our life with as this weekend Valentine’s Day is one of the day that widely celebrated across the globe. It is a traditional day for lovers expresses their love by presenting flowers, gift, confectionary and greeting cards to each other.

Avanti

A romantic dinner for the night could not be miss by most of the couples yet I have recently discover one of a great restaurant perfectly suits for love birds which is located at the lobby of Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel.

Avanti (2)

When I first walk into the restaurant, I had fall in love with the place with Europe Italian setting is build up with dim light classic atmosphere that create such a romantic ambiance yet relaxing.

The live band is great that will play throughout the night that make as soft background music which is absolutely romantic for couples to sit on the table to gaze at each other, soft chat and enjoy the dinner through the night.

Avanti (3)

A open concept kitchen with firewood pizza toasting in it..nyum~

Avanti (4)

Avanti (5)

All tables will be serving with the special bread and for bread lovers, you would enjoy this plain bread as much as I do.

Avanti (6)

One of the thing that I discover another level was the butter, I have learn the new type of butter which is ‘Tomato Butter’ in orange colour, when I slap the half piece of the butter on to my bread I just fell in love with the taste, with butter taste yet nice young tomato taste is mild that blend well with the butter taste, new unique experience and taste.

Avanti (7)

The love menu of the night.

Avanti (8)

‘Lobster Tower served with Zucchini and White Beans’ is the first dish that introduce to us. The lobster is compress into a cylinder to make it stand so solid high and press it down with fork, you can just see all the solid ingredient spread out. Lobster meat is solid yet sweet and eat along with the beans is just something new to me. The texture of the soft creamy white beans is a perfect combination with it.

Avanti (9)

Next we got serve with moist ‘Rigatoni with Ricotta Cheese and Sun-Dried Tomato Sauce’ is another unique experience for me. Long cylinder cook in creamy cheese sauce had form a mouth watering melt base on the tongue yet eat along with sun dried tomato, added the sourness of it.

Avanti (11)

To ensure you still have strong taste bud for next coming serving, you are serve with ‘Watermelon Sherbet’ to keep the enjoyment refresh. Soft smooth texture with strong watermelon taste that will just melt in your tongue burst with flavor.

Avanti (13)

The climax of the night was the serving of ‘Veal Medallion with Grape Sauce’ which I do not know what veal is until it got served. It look so nice and delicious till I wanted to eat on the spot immediately. I cannot imagine that the veal is so soft, tender and juicy that one piece of it is enough to kill me away. Eat it along with the grape sauce created another sensational taste, sour yet you slowly munch on the veal created a bursting flavor of aroma in the mouth.

Avanti (14)

Then when ‘Grilled red Snapper served with Sauteed Fennel’ was served it looks more like an angle flying towards me. The red snapper is very fresh, yet its huge, soft juicy meat that eat along with the sauce on the plate is perfect for ladies or non red-meat eater.

Avanti (17)

The last for the night, you will be shot by cupid in da house with 'Strawberry Parfait with Star Anise Sauce’ that brings the meal to finale.

Mei Chi Xuan Restaurant @ Kota Damansara

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , | Posted On Monday, January 25, 2010 at 11:58 PM

Kota Damansara had recently had become one of my hunting ground for food. With a lot of restaurant, kopitiam and cafĂ©’s mushrooming around the neighborhood, one thing I can say that their food in that area so is so far so good until I got expose to this small shop in the area. Famous for its seafood and its fried hot wok dish and among its local neighborhood, the taste had even attracted stars as far as Hong Kong to dine in here.

Mei Chi Xuan

The shop is located in the heart of Kota Damansara.

Mei Chi Xuan (2)
This is what I mean that the shop had attracted crowd from far with the Hong Kong Starz in Super Trio show had dine here before yet Hoh Chiak local tv food hunter had featured them too.

Mei Chi Xuan (3)

Here we are, to try out their menu specially made by the chef for Chinese New Year. The chef want us to do photo shoot session first as I cannot wait to eat it. The aroma pilling up the room is just full with temptation.

Mei Chi Xuan (4)

'Sea Cucumber with Seafood and Mushroom on a Dragon Boat' had already amazed me with its very original food presentation.

Mei Chi Xuan (5)

Carefully crafted dragon head and tail with the broccoli decorated by the side and the rest of the ingredient sitting on top of it make it look like a floating boat. All of us were so impress. I always thought that only can see what those TV cooking show chef can do but never really on a local restaurant like this, which is not even a 4 star restaurant.

Mei Chi Xuan (6)

Filled with chewy, juicy sea cucumber, scallop, prawns, mushroom, carrots and make the aroma blended so well. Broccoli was freshly cook to my likings. This dish was cook for the reason healthy eating. (from RM150)

Mei Chi Xuan (7)

'Braised Pork Trotter with Mushroom and Lotus Seed' (RM28 onwards). The pork trotter was cook to perfection until the pork meat is soft, yet not too starchy flavorful gravy that shower upon covers over mushroom and lotus seed, yet by putting one small piece of the fats will just melts on your mouth.

Mei Chi Xuan (8)

'Brown Rice with Waxed Meat and Egg Yolk' (from RM50)

Mei Chi Xuan (9)

Last dish had attracted me more on the taste as when it was serve, the aroma of the wax meat smells so niceeee~ . Not till the chef mention that, let me show you the hidden jewel, and when he cuts open, is like you seen in the TVB cooking drama series, when it cuts open the aroma just burst out even stronger and then the salty duck egg yolk was hidden in the middle like making it shining (I meant tvb style) but this gives me that kind off feeling yet you can smell the saltiness yet strong nice fragrance of the dish that makes us just want to walap the whole plate.

The rice is fried till just nice which is not too dry yet eat it with the wax meat is just perfect combination and the salty egg yolk just adds on the extra kick of it.

It was a great experience in this shop and I am surely looking forward on their normal menu which other customer had order and I can even smells the taste of it when I walk pass to toilet. Just lovin it~

Toast 'n' Toast @ Balakong

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , | Posted On Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 1:02 PM

After my Melacca food hunt trip few months back, me and my friends really wish that this shop actually open in KL but never did I thought I found one here at Balakong which I was on the way for a food review around the area and made wrong turn and found it.
Went to try out as we really miss the food from this shop when at Melacca and we thought that it is not the same or another copy cat but it was exactly the same and in their menu did not state another branch address.

Toast n Toast

Toast n Toast (2)

Toast n Toast (3)

We were very hungry and start off with 'Set-D, Fried Bee Hoon, Pudding and a drink (if not mistaken)'. The taste were rather plain and dissapointing. RM 9

Toast n Toast (4)

Of course with my favourite 'Cinamon Toast' but very light in taste which is almost like roti bakar kosong. RM1.80

Toast n Toast (5)

'Otak-Otak Toast' which is so little in ingrediant and not much to say about it. RM2.80

Toast n Toast (6)

'Crunchy Toast' by the look of it we were expecting it at least something we can enjoy but the peanut is like very soft that did not seal in tight air container. RM2.50

Toast n Toast (7)

'Sour Sop Ice Blended' was my best companion in that morning, the only thing which taste flavourful yet can suck some mini slices of sour sop. RM4.90

Toast n Toast (8)

'Mango Pudding' rather taste like from the instant packet.
It was rather a dissapointing breakfast for us, as I think we bring high expectation and good experience back from their branch at Melacca and came back here to eat with such a huge quality difference its kinda like a parent had lie to their kid that had promise to buy them sweets. Hopefully they improve in the future.

Melacca branch, sure we are going back for more. Click here for past review, Melacca.

Niello Cafe @ Seri Kembangan, Selangor

Wow, I just could not believe that I would travel so far for lunch as I was told that there is a nice food in that area so just fly by...As when I walked in, I was like 'Wow!!! so many people here, guess that the food must be nice' on second thought or it is the nearest place to eat here. Lol. On the menu, they have a set lunch set so decided to try by, since I see so many people order where as when I saw in the menu, the lunch is very reasonable.....
One of my friend order 'Marmite Chicken Chop Rice' when it got served it look someting simple yet tempting, but seriously....the flavour of the chicken is nice~ Nicely deep fried and a bit of spicy, the taste is there. Just cost RM8.90 for the set lunch set as it comes with a drink. So okay lah~

Wah lau~ this I must say my most highly recommended 'Charboil Chicken Chop' grilled to perfection, no burn on the chicken, soft and tender and of course the best part of all is the Mushroom sauce gravy. One gravy is not enough, ask for 2!!!! to satisfaction~ RM11.30 for this lovely dish. My next target is the chicken chiiop~~

This is what I have order in the set lunch set which is 'Teriyaki Rice'. Should not have order this when it came I was asking my friend, what did I order ha? Vegetarian set ga? they laughed. It was the teriyaki cabbage more than the chicken. Well, It just just normal on this dish, not salty enough, the chicken is nicely cooked but then aiii..okay la..cuz tried the 1st and 2nd food nice already and it comes to mine, you know..a bit down~ Well, my set cost RM10.90.

Overall, I think that the western food is nice. Next round will come and try it. Tempting~

Sushi Zanmai @ The Gardens

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , | Posted On Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 11:48 PM

Revisit Sushi Zenmai again. Was with my friend that she thought of wanted to go on diet, then I mention Japanese food as good for girls on diet, less oil. Lol~ So went there and the best part was did not need to Que up as I was there around 3.30pm on weekdays..Lol~

This is what my friend ordered 'Kani Avocado Salad'. To me when I saw it I was like 'yeeewwwww avocado, hate it!!! so soft as in it can just imagine my friend vomiting the things out from their mouth~ yucks!!!' but do not underestimate this, with the special don know what dressing down on the salad, you will just race to the finish as 1 bowl of dressing not enough, asked for another 1. RM 12.80 for the lovely salad

Me on my diet too, so decided to order 'Curry Udon Chicken'. Wow, this is the first time I had a nice curry chicken udon, the feeling is just like what I ate back in those days when I was in melb at one of the lunch box restaurant at Swanston Street nearby RMIT. The gravy is nice, a bit thick, sweet and curry powder taste. Some ppl might not like it but to mee its very nice. RM10.80 for this udon.

This 2 are my favourite's which is 'Salmon Mentai' and 'Aburi Hotate'. Once you try you will fall in love with it. RM 6 each.
Overall, still recommended this restaurant as the service is prompt and good food but I still think that the 1 in One-U taste better.

Asia Cafe @ SS15

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , | Posted On Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at 2:06 AM

This cafe really reminds me back to those days when I was studying at Taylor where Asia Cafe did not exist yet. It was only like an abandoned area with kampung style deco and a western food restaurant. INTI high rise building were never build yet also. Well, well, back to Asia cafe for food. It is like a hawker center or called it a food court without air con. But sure do famous for watching soccer. Have alot of big screens TV around.

I was so hungry so I ordered this 'Red Wine Pork Chop rice set' in one of the stalls in there. Asking me where about, ermmm... it is nearby I don't know which is which. Ahh..remembered, the stretch that same with the firewood pizza stall or can say that in front of the TakoYaki stall stretch. In the picture display at the stall is sure look very tempting, bout the same as what I took, but honestly the red wine sauce is quite strong, makes it not really good to savior. The pork meat is soft even suits for grandpa to eat and chew. For this dish is RM7.50 (if not mistaken)rating 5/10. okay lah~

This is the 'Mee Yoke Prawn Mee' a.k.a Hokkien Mee, what pg ppl called. Taste very nice, enough salty, and mix with everything you can get, like intestine, pai kuat, and extra added small prawns.RM 5 only. Rating 7/10

I have always in love with the fire woods pizza, as I find it nicer but not to be denied that Franky's pizza is not bad also. Was walking around like hungry zombie, then look at the pizza like quite alot people ordering so decided to join the crowd. This 1 can't remember called what but sure do remember it is no.16 in the menu. Got pineapple, ham, cheeze and don know what others already but sure do know that among the 3, this is the best. The aroma of the pizza is very nice, soft, yet juicy with the tomato sauce base and not too thick. Small size of pizza is priced at RM9
