Restaurant Kin Kin, Pan Mee @ Pandan Indah, Cheras

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , | Posted On Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 11:30 PM

I just go through a few blogs to find the address for this and didn’t know that this shop is actually a hit in the town with the taste and especially the chili flakes. This place was introduce by my friends when we were hunting for our company dinner dress.

Kin Kin

Kin Kin (2)

Their signature which is, this very chili flakes that a lot of people just add on many table spoonful of it onto their bowl but I felt that there is nothing fancy on this flakes or I would say there are actually a few shops are better than this.

Kin Kin (3)

‘Mix of Pork and Fish Ball’, loves the springy feel of both flavor as what I preferred. Pork ball is abit solid yet gives me the compact bite of it and not a big fan of fish balls yet it does gives the soft springy feel.

Kin Kin (4)

‘Soup Pan Mee’ taste not bad with the taste of anchovies that gives a bit of salty inside the clear soup yet flour taste comes from pan mee, added on with mince meat added on the flavor.

Kin Kin (5)

If you do not like soup base then you should try their ‘Dry Pan Mee’ which I prefer more than the soup base. I have mine added on with the semi boil egg.

Kin Kin (6)

I did like what other people did just by adding on the chili flakes, its just not bad after all to make the taste slightly better.

With the price tag around RM5-RM8 I would say its not a expensive place to eat in with their prompt service there is actually nothing to complain about.

Sawadee kap.... Sa Baai Dee Mai?Sa baai Dee Sui Mak Mak will introduce you some very nice Thai foooddd sir and madammmm...

I have always miss the language of Thai with their greetings. Sounds so lovely. How nice if you can hear people speak Thai language in a restaurant but for us Thai food had always been one of our local favourites. Who can deny more than a very nice good thai food without travelling far? I would have to say that a double celebration that had made me expose to this great thai authentic restaurant around Leisure Mall area.

I might have pass around that area a couple of times, only this event make me realise on it as infront of the shop there is a a few malay stalls that overshadow the restaurant but it did not stop the locals going to this restaurant.

Ah Roy Thai

A warm and classic thai restaurant that with simple decoration of thai umbrellas and the origin chef with great experience that being the reason of the good food.

A good thai food, a things that I would not miss is the 'Young Coconut Drink' and their 'Kat Chai Sour Plum' is damm good. I took 3 glasses.

Ah Roy Thai (5)

One of the very authentic food that could hardly find in other restaurant is this 'Thai Tradisional Leaf Wrapped Savouries(Mieng Kam)泰式传统柳叶包' RM12 that filled with very authentic flavour using a traditional leave to wrap all the ingredient on it and just eat.

The leave is freshly plug and carefully choose by the owner. That is the secret of this dish. Alot of people will be quite disappointed if they find this item sold out or do not have on that day.

Ah Roy Thai (6)

I forgot what is the name of this dish already but its like Durian. You either love it or hate it but as for me I find it not bad as the taste is quite spicy that can nearly chocked my throat yet the sourness is to the extend will mild out the spiciness.

Ah Roy Thai (19)

'Pandan Chicken 香兰叶包鸡' is boneless and well marinated that was friend along with it. Soft and juicy chicken meat is something good to start off with. RM2.40/pcs

Ah Roy Thai (9)

Haiyoo, When dining in thai food, if you did not order 'Tom Yam Seafood 冬炎海鲜' (S)RM18 (M)RM25 (B)RM35 is like ordering Char Koey Teow do not want Koey Teow. This pot of thing, its highly recommended to order it big. Sour and spicy that excites my my taste bud filled with some squid, prawns, crab and some other seafood pieces is just something I could not explain for more.

Ah Roy Thai (10)

If spiciness is something you cannot withstand then 'Green Curry Chicken 青加喱鸡' would be a good choice. Very mild in taste yet a bowl of rice is the best companion. (S)RM15 (B)RM25

Ah Roy Thai (14)

'Steam Fish In Thai Style 泰式蒸鱼'(Seasonal Price)No fishy smell and soft fish meat show's the sign of freshness level is there and the soup steam base of the fish is classic authentic thai taste, sour level is high and its just good.

Ah Roy Thai (13)

'Stuffed Crab In The Shell 泰式酿蟹盖' RM4-5/pcs with the base meat that been fried is flavour with solid crab taste and some chestnut.

Ah Roy Thai (12)

'Lemon Grass Salad 香茅凉拌' (S)RM15(B)25

Ah Roy Thai (15)

'Steam Squid With Garlic & Lime 蒜酸柑汁蒸苏东' RM20 is another dish that you must not miss. Squid that been slice and like soak in long bath, that you should not underestimate. Springy squid meat scoop a spoonfull of the soup and eat it with rice, is something I enjoy alot.

Ah Roy Thai (16)

Since we have the wet version, and we decided to hit for the dry version 'Siam Stuffed Squid 暹罗鱿鱼怀宝' that grill well and stuff with home made ingrediant. RM20

Shin Yu Japanese & Chinese Healthy Restauran @ Taman Maluri, Cheras

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , | Posted On Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 8:32 PM

During this season, if you are craving for Japanese food, this is the restaurant that you should be looking for. My very first time encounter Vegetarian Japanese Restaurant.

A Japanese sushi menu.

While I was looking at the menu, then do not know what to order and I ask the person to introduce me what is their signature then she request me to try out 'Shin Yu Sushi'. Even though the structure doesnt look nice but it was something that can cure my craving. Its nice. RM6

Then for my main I order 'Miso Udon' doesnt comes near to my taste but as it rejects the flavor. Nothing near to the taste of Miso soup and the mushroom taste had overpower most of the ingredient in there. RM8
Besides Japanese food, they still do offer alot of stir fried end on their wall, there are a few newspaper cutting mentioning on their dishes even though I do not know how to read Chinese. For this round I am giving what I eat above. Might try out their stir fried if got chance.

Duck Rice, Restaurant Sun Ming @ Taman Connaught,Cheras

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , | Posted On Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 12:36 AM

Within a week, the K&K and her gang introduce me to eat Duck rice again. As what they said it is much nicer that then 1 in Taman Desa. Then wokayyy..just go lah, with lots of people following then reach that area. It is at Cheras nearby UCSI college there as I recognize the place. It was lucky that the parking space was just nice for the 3 of the cars.

It was early when we reach the shop, was like around 12pm and already half full. The people ta pau’ing, the queue is building up.

We manage to get a big table and guess what. Within 15 minutes after we were seated, the ppl just flock into the kopitiam and turn it into like pasar with suddenly so many ppl and so noisy.

If you feel that, duck is not enough for you, the side order area looks tempting. With the don know what and what as I know how to point and eat.

The duck was gone fast.

The person is working hard by chopping and chopping non stop, busy working during lunch time. Wonder if he can use his hand to chop a person to make he/she faint instantly.

Ahhhh….here is my favourite. Never eat duck rice without this ‘Chai Boey ’ I know how to call it in Hokkien only. Sorry haa..cantonese a bit poor. The taste is veli good ah..the soup is sour to the taste, abit spicy with the dry chili, the sour veggie is cook to perfection. Ngam ngam soft. A good soup to start off with, open up appetite.

Here comes the ‘Char Siew’. By looking at it I was like mouth watering. When got serve onto the table, I was the first 1 to tax the char siew. The meat is soft, with the fats thin layer and layer makes it so good but don really like the char siew sauce.

The ‘Roast Pork’ is very nice also. The curst is crispy, the pork is soft and bite already feel juicy abit. Not so dry. Again, the layer of fats is just good.

Lastly of course the main dish had arrive. The ‘Duck’. I must say that the duck meat here taste much better than the 1 in Taman Desa. The meat is tender and soft yet you can bite the roast taste out of it. The duck aroma is there, the skin is good till I was like walaping it non stop.

Over all the food here is totally good. As I get to dine for free again, was treated by one friend and the total bill came around RM145 as I know and was share by around 9 people. All the food is serve 2 each. I feel that the price is reasonable. . Highly Recommended
