St.Patrick Day with Guinness @ Santini, Tropicana Mall

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , , , , , , , , , | Posted On Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 10:32 AM

To be honest, I did not know what is St.Patrick’s day until 2 years ago when I started to read blog, and all I know it Guinness is associated with this event which comes to a conclusion to me that St.Patrick’s Day = Guinness. Then only I get to know what the meaning is all about. It is a annual holiday that is widely celebrated on the 17th of March as to name after the Saint Patrick which is also known as Catholic holiday and had become a big celebration in Ireland after 1600s. Now with this annual event had become a global signature and widely celebrated around the globe.

Then back to my study life when I enjoy my very first encounter with Guinness was thought by a good friend of mine Mervyn and I still remember that time Mervyn and Mike keep telling me, lets go and enjoy BLACK JUICE. I was puzzle and thinking what the hell is Black Juice, not until we reach Crown Casino in Melbourne where there are happy hours going on, they order 3 pint for me. I was like Stim, how to finish some it taste awful. From there, they teach me how to enjoy this great drink till today, Guinness is still one of the drink top in my list. Seriously, a drink that toast to them for teaching me and also TO ARTHUR!

And to celebrate this great event, we had our very little outing in this restaurant.

Chinese New Year is just around the corner. Every Chinese is busy replanish stock for other family members and friends to visit them. Traffic and parking is a pain in the ass but another thing that draws alot of people to the mall is to take picture of the deco. The deco in most of the malls now are really putting alot of efford and investment in it. Its very impressive as part of the crowd drawing. Did not went to alot of malls but just went to the very main few ones.

CNY Deco'10

The decoration of 1-Utama is the 'Fatt Choy Mau' Prosperity Cat.. When it was setting up, I always keep wonder will the hand move like what most restaurant display.

My Honeymoon Desert @ 1-Utama

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , | Posted On Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 11:30 PM

I do shop, eat and walk around in 1-Utama but surprisingly I never walk to around this area until I was out of idea what to eat that day and ask where is Subway only realise there are another food area instead of the 3rd floor. While walking towards Subway, this shop sure caught my attention as I am a big fan of deserts but I have not came across any nice desert that I have kept in mind as my much prefer or in hunting such as sweet desert (snowy ice) or anything in cold.

After finishing eating Subway, hurried to this place which looks like a nice place to hang out too.

From the outside I thought the books were real till I sat down only realise it was wall paper and it looks cool too, something like Library.

They do have a few categories of desert in their menu. Surely they have wide selections and picture illustration in it looks good too.

Till I came across and decided to order this desert 'Mango Special Lo' if I do not remember wrongly, I saw something like Hong Kong desert which makes me think back of the great mango drink Hoi Lau San, that tasted so good thought it would be good too.

When it was serve, me and my friend was like staring at it. 'What a big bowl' and mango cubes which is so little that can be calculated, and the base is like fettuccine (something that taste like taufufa) then mango syrup mix base. The taste is not bad but with the cost RM14.30(including service charge 10%), which is VERY EXPENSIVE for such a desert and quality that I think I can think of a few which taste much better than this yet cheaper.
Would just visit this desert for only once. Will not be returning back.

Food Rating 6.5/10, Okay lah, TOO EXPENSIVE!~

Yishensu, A Vegetarian Connoisseur @ 1-Utama

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , , | Posted On Monday, October 19, 2009 at 10:36 PM

Now is the Vegetarian season and in KL to do that is really a pain in the ass, that’s why I have hold up this posting and decided to posting around this time. I have to thanks to Sidney (BigBoysOven) for the invites. If its not him, then would not have known this shop.

This shop is currently managing by the daughter and the mom is responsible on most of the dishes. All their ingredient are very pure and some are important from a few countries.

Renovated with very nice and cozy interior that really suits on what they are serving.

A variety of food you can get there which is the same as the normal menu in any restaurant but its just that in vegetarian form.

The aroma of the dish was flying around the area and it smells good. Can’t wait to eat it. The food presentation is like the wedding dinner set. If I am not mistaken, this is the 'Combination Platter'. A dish that you would not want to miss.

I like this the most, ‘Vegetarian Baked Bacon’ very chewy and abit crispy, the sauce that topping on top is a kick on your taste bud. Once eaten, it just cant stop cuz its taste very the same.

'Shark Fin Egg' well fried with ‘wok hei’ yet the structure is very similar and you will wonder how they make it till it taste so good.

'Cuttle Fish with Satay Sauce' chewy and springy texture, enjoying every bite of it with very fragrance satay sauce top on top.

Deep fried till the outer layer is crispy and preserving the softness of the prawns in it. The own made mayo had make it a great combination taste will be the 'Golden Prawn Mayo'.

'Ginseng and Turnip Soup' taste like home cook, deliciously finish the whole bowl till the very last drop.

‘Toufu Topped with Preserve Vegetable’ salty enough yet mix well with the taste of the toufu.

'Mixed Veggie' a perfect fried of vegetable that the lotus root is abit crispy and the aroma of the nuts jus sunk in make it a good dish that you would not want to miss.

'Sizzling Spicy Fish' Sizzling hot plate with the gravy pour upon still boiling and the sauce taste so good that it had mix well with the fish. The homemade gravy is one of the signature in there. Anything that with this gravy, it’s a good try.

'Stir Fried Prawns in Sweet and Sour Sauce with Man Tou'. Man tou was friend to perfection as expected the crust is crispy yet inside is very soft. Makes it a great couple. As we tried out the prawns, we could not believe the texture of it. Taste so similiar with springy feeling.

'Terriyaki Mock Duck with Scramble Eggs'. Love the terriyaki sauce that brings up along the aroma of the vegetarian duck meat. If I were to go there for lunch, this would be a great order.

We enjoy the whole vegetarian meal is a good experience yet the food there is first class yet their price is very reasonable as you can see in the menu. Since now is the season, and having a headache where to find one nice Vegetarian Restaurant, this restaurant is highly recommended.
