Hai Thian Restaurant @ Equine Park,

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , | Posted On Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 12:18 AM

A few days ago, we went back again to Hai Thian restaurant for a feast again. It was one of the post that I had forgotten to blog about it, that I manage to find back the pictures and now it is a combine post of both event the first one was after Chinese New Year we came here for lou sang and second time was few days ago to celebrate Kebbie’s Birthday. This is regard as one of a recommended restaurant by my colleague. One of the reason I did not blog about it as I do not have the receipt, therefore the name in here is base on my own estimation.

During my first trip to this restaurant, I find it very far from my office as it is deep inside Serdang, but when I reach the restaurant I was shock! to see the restaurant occupied half of the stretch of the shop lot, might taken up around 5-7 shop lot to convert it. With the effort, I have rated it as dont play play restarant as it must be a standard to be able to conqueer such a big place.

As some information from my colleague as this restaurant is very famous and they had just move to this new premises, as during on the old location, it is always pack!

Hai Tian

Hai Tian (2)

A modern interior with some Chinese calligraphy printing on the pillar, with high ceiling and a stage, occasionally a lot weddings are held in this restaurant, based on our estimation, it is able to cater up to 80 tables.

Hai Tian (3)

The menu is heavy and the pricing in here are very reasonable.

Hai Tian (4)

Hai Tian (5)

For the first round when I was here, we had 'Salmon Lou Sang'.

Hai Tian (6)

'Chicken Fried with dry Chili', the taste is absolutely fantastic, fried evenly that the chicken is soft and tender yet the sauce that fried along in it makes the aroma stick on the chicken that the gravy is sticky.

Hai Tian (7)

I have eaten a lot of salted egg crab, pork, chicken and others but I have not tried before ‘Salted Egg Pumpkin’ as it turns out to be very good. The salted egg had been finely chopped till its like sand and pumpkin to fried along with it, is just as good as it is.

Hai Tian (8)

'Chinese Herbal with Prawns and Vermicelli (tang hoon)' when this pot came over, it was finish within seconds and not enough that we order another pot of it. The soup is very aromatic with chinese wine that did not overpower the herbs taste, just the right amount and taste is very inviting.

Hai Tian (9)

'Fried Lotus Root, Chinese Pea with Macadamia Nuts'. Fried with wok hei that maitain the freshness of the vegetable and the ingredient of Macadamia nut add the extra umph in it.

Hai Tian (10)

'Fried Vegetable'

Hai Tian (11)

'Steam Fish with Ginger', fish is fresh as the meat is soft and juicy and ginger was fried perfectly right as we can taste the spiciness of it and dip along with the soy base, no complain.

Hai Tian (12)

If you love spare parts, then one of the dish that you must not miss is 'Fried Pig Intestine with Blackpeper'. I love the stink taste of it as for me I feel the taste is there and black peper is just right that is not very spicy that make every one enjoys it.

Hai Tian (13)

We had not enough of it and order another plate with the 'Fried Intestine' and tell you, it is good, chewy and springy. Dip with the sauce that came along with it, it was gone within 60 seconds.

Till here, the first total bill damage was RM260 which I find it quite reasonable with the portion and quality served by 12 pax.

Hai Tian (14)

We had often taste sweet and sour pork but this round (second visit) we decided to try out 'Sweet and Sour Intestine' but for me I prefer the black pepper as it taste better.

Hai Tian (15)

'Birthday Noodle' was something different that I have tried, as it add in pork ham. My gawd! it taste awesome by adding in some vinegar with starchy sauce base and aromatic ham taste.

Hai Tian (16)

'Dried Chili Claypot with Pork' as a very good companion with rice. Strong base flavour that is abit spicy with dried chili and the pork slices had been slice thinly that cook it a while to make it chewy and just cook.

Hai Tian (17)

'Fried Pai Kuat' would be adding into my list as it was fried evently cripy then sauce was fried along with it. Eat it hot, while the taste is there.

Hai Tian (18)

'Fried Fish'

Hai Tian (19)

'Vegetable with herbal soup base'

Hai Tian (20)

'Stir Fried Baby French beans'

This second bill comes in total of RM250 for 10 pax which is quite reasonable too. For those residence that lives around that area, surely is a restaurant I am recommending, perfectly good for up coming Mother's Day. A good meal and a nice place to be.

Restaurant Brother Kuan @ Bandar Puteri, Puchong

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , , | Posted On Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 11:38 PM

If you ask me where to hunt for food, one of the places or area I would recommend is Bandar Puteri, Puchong. There are a lot of restaurant here, but most of them come and go as the competitive level here is very high in for foodie like me, its good as there are a lot of choices but for business is bad as have to keep coming up with new promotions.

One colleague of mine that she stay around the area that recommend we should come to this shop which is pretty good, without any hesitation, we directly head there as most of us don feel like eating at canteen for that day.

Brother Kuan

Brother Kuan (2)

The place is simple, nice and cozy.

Brother Kuan (3)

Dishes in the menu is not many variety but mostly are recommended.

Brother Kuan (4)

With Ping Ping had dine here before, we leave the choise for her to choose.

Brother Kuan (5)

This is the starter of the day, that Karen and Kebbie bought from a auntie from the front. I love the young mango, its not very sour yet very sweet. Good to eat before meal.

Brother Kuan (6)

Although this look simple, but if you do come to this shop and dine, this would be a recommended dish by me, the 'BBQ Pork' had been roast till the outer layer is crispy, layer fats and meat are choose evenly and its just perfect.

Brother Kuan (7)

'Hailam Chicken' that something is simple and nice with soft tender meat and smooth chicken skin add on with some ginger is just as good as it is.

Brother Kuan (8)

Ahhh, this is my favorite of the day, 'BBQ-Pork Omelette' as not many people can fried an egg very aromatic that egg taste blends well with the bbq pork, onion and some vegies. I wish I had 2 of this. RM 6 Recommended~

Brother Kuan (9)

If you are looking for something clear soup to go along, this would not be a bad choice to go after. 'Bayam with Superior Soup' RM 8

Brother Kuan (10)

One of the unique taste of the day 'Roast Duck with Herbal Sauce' as I always eat roast duck but never with herbal sauce. The flaver blends in pretty good but do not expect the meat to be as aromatic that just roasted out but its another taste to enjoy. RM15

Brother Kuan (11)

'Miss Fried Fish Paste' @ RM 8, deep fried perfectly, that a home made fish paste feel is there.

Brother Kuan (12)

This happens to be another in demand dish as 'La Chi Prawns' was put down on the table, I was not fast enough as Kenji already stole one of the prawn as it looks too tempting. It is quite spicy (those who cannot eat spicy, please request to reduce it) and solid prawn meat that been fried along with the sauce and spiciness level is there just makes the prawn very good. RM25

Brother Kuan (13)

During the whole meal, the chef and another lady been observing me for very long time and curious of me why keep taking picture and not long after that the chef which is also the owner Chef Marcus walked over and ask us how is the food, do we enjoy and everything, after found out that I am a foodie, he is even more friendly, telling me that this shop is the first restaurant that offer cart steam rice which is more on health purpose as to go along with his dish, Chinese herbal. He indeed was very friendly as I did observe him, he walk and talk with customer before came over to my table.

Total bill came out with RM118 shared with 7 pax is very reasonable and with the quality served, its recommended~

Tim Sum Buffett @ Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant, One World Hotel

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , , , , , | Posted On Monday, March 22, 2010 at 8:50 AM

It was quite some time ago that me and my friends had eat all you can dim sum. As I remember on the last round was my colleague keep arranging Tim Sum buffet till got phobia of it and stop for quite some time till last weekend which was organize by Ken.

Then we head to Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant which is located at 1st floor of One World Hotel, PJ that pamper most of the tim sum lovers with their latest menu with an unbelievable price.

ZuanYuan

ZuanYuan (2)

With chinese vase, and some look alike artifact had decorated the whole wall upon the nearby entrance.

ZuanYuan (5)

When we were walk through pass the entrance, I just love their interior design with luxurious interior furnishing with traditional colour of red, silver and gold.

ZuanYuan (6)

ZuanYuan (7)

If you feel that you need more privacy or need some gathering, the sure do have VIP rooms to cater on your needs.

ZuanYuan (8)

Not long after we were seated down, then the table was bombard by all the variety tim sum, while we were busy taking pictures of it, it never stop till the whole table is full, then I was like Wow! Wonder how are we going to finish it.

ZuanYuan (9)

In this buffet I got shock that we get to order 'Steamed Seafood Dumpling with Superior Stock and Shark's Fin' or as the picture below. I love this very much, with its strong taste that been steam for long time, and the seafood dumpling remains soft and filled with ingredients. Recommended this compare with another one.

ZuanYuan (10)

'Braised Shark Fin's with Crab Roe' is a bit starchy and added on with vinegar, it just taste awesome.

ZuanYuan (11)

I just like their vinegar taste that make the whole soup so nice.

ZuanYuan (12)

'Water Prawn Noodle' is served next in the set menu with a plate each. Chewy juicy prawns hints the freshness of it and end with an egg top on it.

ZuanYuan (13)

The 'Chili Oil' is something that I constant attack on, as its very fragrance, a bit salty and with dried shrimps and not very spicy.

ZuanYuan (14)

'Pan Fried Shanghai Dumpling' I always bite open the tip of it and stuff it with Ginger Vinegar that served upon. Just loving it as its been pan fried well on one side of it.

ZuanYuan (15)

ZuanYuan (16)

This is my frist time with 'Steamed mince Squid Ball with Dried Octopus and Crab Stick' as I thought it was a sushi ball, it taste simple and nice.

ZuanYuan (17)

'Steamed Shark's Fin Dumpling'

ZuanYuan (18)

'Steamed Teo Chew Sui Mai'

ZuanYuan (19)

'Steamed Prawn Dumpling'

ZuanYuan (20)

As I always love to have my plate of 'Barbeque Char Siew Chee Cheong Fun with Sesame Seeds' added with their chili oil...

ZuanYuan (21)

'Shredded Dried Scallop Chee Cheong Fun' as when bite on the scallop its juicy and springy, like the feeling of it.

ZuanYuan (22)

'Flaky Barbeque Char Siew Pastries'

ZuanYuan (23)

Certainly this taste unique as 'Taro Dumpling Wu Kok Style with Scallop and Miso Sauce' the sauce itself had blend in well with the taste of the wu kok, a bit salty and crispy edge.

ZuanYuan (24)

'Deep Fried Prawn Dumpling and Salad Dressing'

ZuanYuan (25)

ZuanYuan (26)

'Fried Loh Pak Kou'

ZuanYuan (27)

'Oven Baked Mini Egg Tarts with Caramel and Cinamon'

ZuanYuan (28)

'Oven Baked Cheese Tart'

ZuanYuan (29)

'Deep Fried Sesame Balls with Peanut Paste' crispy on the outer part and inside filling is warm and I like it. I had a plate of these myself.

ZuanYuan (30)

With every Tim Sum that I always go, I must always end it with their desert range. With this two Behind: 'Double-Boiled Crystal Pear with Fresh Ginseng, 'Chilled Aloe Vera Infused with Lemon Grass' as both were rather chilling and refreshing, which is good for me to cool down to get the satisfaction of it. Surely a must have desert to end off your meal.

It was a great new discovery that with just only RM48++ we are getting such luxurious range of it. Definately I will be coming back for second round~ is available on daily lunch from 12pm - 2.30pm.
