Today was a special day, suddenly a person treat us to eat. So happily we search for a nice Vegetarian restaurant to eat. While browsing through, then my friend was looking through at a list of restaurant and ask me to check with her and suddenly I saw this name, Kechana which I remember a few blogger had review on this place before. So quickly check it out and yes, it was the place that they have review before, so we have make our decision to go there. Kekek

Review the catch, was today, our Director suddenly said want to treat us for lunch, so we were a bit shock and surprise but what the heck just go la.

After reach and park that place, while walking there and near towards the entrance as I walked quite fast then I overheard this, ‘Wah…!!! This place gonna cost me how much?’ got replied by, not that expensive only la. Reasonable.

Sorry that there is no picture of this place and the food its because my director is there. So better skip this action and keep a low profile.

I like the place and interior, a very comfortable place to dine for a dinner and I can say, it’s the most classy place I have ever been for a Vegetarian Restaurant. Once reach lunch time, the crowd start to flock in, filled in the place quite fasts.

While looking at the menu, they do offer daily set lunch with a very reasonable price. Then we choose the Wednesday Set Menu cost RM119++ if I am not mistaken.

It served with ‘Goose Meat’, oh~ one of my favourite that I would not miss during this season. So far this is the best I have eaten. Well fried and dry up which you eat its not juicy(with oil) yet covers with ‘fu chuk’ taste as it is suppose to be. A lil crispy on the skin which is just nice.

‘Toufu Mince Meat’ is a great companion with a bowl of rice, with a lil spicy as the gravy base and the dish is well fried.

‘Sweet and Sour Pork’ which we enjoy it a lot, as it taste as good as eating the real one. A bit solid and chewy and wasn’t too sweet and sour. Just the right taste level.

‘Butter Mushroom’ is the best compare to the rest. It taste like fried squid on the first bite. A well prepared soft fried on the mushroom yet preserving the taste of it, covers with a very fragrance butter dressing on top of it. Highly Recommended.

‘Vegetable’ was something pretty normal, nothing much to brag about.

We did order extra ‘Mutton Curry’ as recommended by the waiter and its consider one of their signature dish. I would say again, one of the best too during my Vegetable hunting so far. Mild, with soft juicy tender mutton look and taste alike. A great dish for meal opener.

As I feel the body heat pilling inside me, so I decided to order take away ‘Gui Ling Gao’ for tea and guest what. It is the most expensive thing that I have ever come across. RM7.50 for a size of baby’s palm size which you can finish it in one mouth or bite. Nothing special too.

The total bill cost RM180. After a few days of eating, this would be one of the restaurant that I would recommended but with the price of course slightly higher but with the quality they are serving, I do not mind as its hard to find nice vegetarian dish or restaurant.

2 weeks ago, I followed them shopping at Pavilion and it was dinner time, they suddenly ask me, Kia..bring us go makan nice food. Then I was like haarr…so last minute how to think, cant think of anything to eat in Pavi as I am kinda phobia liau… Then + they wanna drink after that. Then Jaya One came into my mind and of course Ducking suddenly appear in my mind too as I pass there many times and the restaurant is always crowded or full. Of course I happily suggested this place as I wanted to try out also.

As I reach earlier so headed to get the table and was there early, around 6.15p.m, only half of the restaurant been occupied. Then I manage to walk around freely and take pics.

Now day’s a lot of restaurants are practicing open kitchen concept as to let customer see how hygienic they are and of course to let you see there is not siew keong in there.

By just staring at the duck my saliva is like already accumulating in my mouth.

I felt that I have been talking about chili oil a lot recently, yet this is something I prefer also, to eat with roast duck, you must not miss it also but so far the chili oil that I haven been so far, all been good.

Then the waiter came by and ask us what type of rice we want, then I was like ha…and ask her back, how many types you have?
'Hainam Rice' (Nasi Hainam) RM2.50 which is dry enough and very nice. Accompany with the dish served is just perfect.

'Pig Oil Rice' (NAsi Kecap Asin Minyak Babi) This is something new to me. Which is very oily but the fragrance of the rice with the oil just can’t be denied so good and the crust of the pieces, one bite just makes you want to grab a full bowl of it. Something you should try. For those who are with cholesterol, please do not take. Its like eating oil. RM2.50

Start off with 'Clamp Superior Soup' (Tahu Kerang Superior Sup). Which is a clear soup yet very flavorful, filled with the taste of ginger and the freshness of clamp, just finish within seconds. Guess every 1 was hungry. RM18.80

This dish is a challenge for me which I do not really know how to translate so used back what they have written there. 'Sup Hipiu Kepitin & Scallop' Its not a big bowl, just nice to be shared by 2, abit taste like shark fin but mild in taste, a very satisfying soup to go with. RM14.80

I have always wanted to try where can I get the best 'Sour and Spicy Soup' (Sup Pangsit Szechuan) RM10.80 This was not the best but still acceptable, as I have tried a good one before but its not available in Malaysia.

'Bean Sprout with mince Pork' (Tumis Buncis, Babi Cincang). Well fried, with just the perfect saltiness and did not spoil the fresness of the long long bean also. . my friend loves this, as she was like every bite she took, she was like mmmmmmmmmmm….hoh chiak!~ hoh chiak… since from the first dish till this 1. RM16.80
I have been a fan of this 'Bitter Gourd Pai Kuat and Chicken Claypot' (Pakut, Ayam Pare S.Tausi). It was perfectly cook, the taste of bitter gourd is mild yet combines well with the black bean sauce, the pai kuat and chicken cook to the extend where the sauce had marinated well with it where by one small pot sharing with 5 person is just not enough. RM19.80

Of course by the name itself and all the ducks hanging on the wall, it’s a thing you must try out here. Even I have taken a picture of 4 types of cooking available for the duck. As usual we would not miss the traditional type 'Roast Duck' (Ititk Pangang) RM28.80. The crispy of the skin and the tenderness of the duck meat soak with a bit of the duck oil during the cooking process is just too hard to resist.

I ordered this, which I see the illustration of the pic in the menu is tempting and it was recommended by the captain there we should try this. When the waiter was holding this dish on his hand, the aroma of the deep fried and the taste of it just travels to us and we were like faster la…wanted to hantam already. Once served down, all of us were like raping the duck, within seconds just gone half of it.

Deeply fried, filled with the special spices that fried with it is just something you must try out for a duck lover. 'Deep Fried Four Season Duck 1/2' RM28.80

It was the very first time that I had taken a receipt that written in Chinese which I do not know how to read and another language is BM which I think its kinda funny, for a Chinese restaurant to come out with Malay description on receipt which I have written down also and with my direct translation.

At the end of the session, they were like aiyoo…hoh liau loh..tonite dinner. We were all very satisfied with the food and just perfect to go for beer after this. Surely, this is falling into my Recommended list.

Brussels Beer Cafe @ Jaya One

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , | Posted On Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 12:47 AM

Yesterday when I went back home, and reopen the folder that I am suppose to blog it out and I got a bit shock as I am far behind to update. I have been quite busy lately, will try my best to update as soon as possible.

Went to Brussels bout 2 weeks ago and I got shocked!

The very last time I walked passed there Brussels was only like conquering the place nearby its pillar and now, nearly to Starbucks territory. Did not know it had become such a happening spot or I am just outdate.

Just like all the people there, I will be one of their regular customer soon as I brought my best friends there and just realise not only they offer our favourite beer Hoegarden, they also offer alot of international beer. Not like those Heineken more like German,Irish, Australia and many more to name it out. Wide variety.

Get to know Hoegarden when I was studying in Melb. This bugger called me and told me that how good is Hoegarden this and that few years back. Then after hear her talk till so good, and during dinner also went to find some bar and pubs see any of those places serve this. Then till one place, called Long Room @ Collin Street opposite Polo shop and Gucci shop nearby. After found that place and it had become my favourite hang out place. Was 4 years back.

This definitely one of the best beer to have. Around RM30 after added tax and service charge. For those people who do not like to drink beer, this would be highly recommended. 'Never try never know. Once try hari hari mau'.(new quote that I learn)

Station 1 Cafe @ Jaya One

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , | Posted On Monday, February 9, 2009 at 4:13 PM

Do not know what to eat then just chin chai stop by at Jaya One to have dinner. Having troubles in choosing the restaurant also, so ended up went to Station 1 Cafe. If I am not mistaken, it is a newly open cafe as there are alot of flowers given to the shop and displaying all outside of it. This place is nicely renovation, very comfortable for a drink and yum cha, you can get beers by watching football and listening to people singing.

Presenting you the menu.

In the menu, what caught my attention was the promotion of the 'Chicken Chop' covers the whole page. Thought it would be nice so give it a try. The chicken is nicely grilled, some of the parts are a bit crispy, the sweet corn is the nicest of all as it uses steam, the mash potato tasted weird as it taste like the water paip taste. The coleslaw is missing some salt. The gravy totally not nice. If they improve their gravy, I would high recommend this dish.It cost RM13.90

This is the 'Fish Ball Beehoon Soup'. Not a big bowl but certainly good for girls on diet. When it was serve, what shock me was the colour of the soup. Looks a bit like serve from longkang but then when you taste it, it is very tasty. The fish ball is very soft and have mince meet in it. The look like fish slice(never like it) but this definitely taste nice and soft. This is better than my chicken chop.
