Poker King

Genre: Comedy

Texas Hold’ Em had become a trend of poker now which is not like those old old days with the Chow Yun Fatt kind of poker with 5 cards individually in a row. If you love their previous movie La Brassiere then you are going to enjoy this movie too.

Louis Khoo in the movie portray as a great online gamer in Texas Hold’ Em but when Lau Cheng Wan ask him to come back immediately to tell him on his father’s death, and even watching the video of his dad signing on that the company will be manage by Lau he felt even more devastated. He was chase out by Lau on his crap game in poker and he met a girl, Stephy and there is where his winning luck begins. From small to big stake and in the end they met in the tournament to showdown who is the Poker King.

A great and funny movie that I enjoy watching which it has been a while there is no nice Cantonese movie. With this 2 guy combining to act which is my 2 favorite actor its hard to miss their show.If you are boring or not in the mood, this would be a recommended show by me~

Overall ratings 10/10, Good and funny show, Recommended~

Caff Restaurant @ Bandar Puteri, Puchong

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , , | Posted On Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 11:46 PM

It was a time of celebration and farewell that this round we was suggest to go this place for eat all you can. Surprisingly, this is the first time I came across that Italian food also got eat all you can. Since the price is cheap, why not. Was suggest by Jonathan again for this kind of food. Was a bit phobia too of his recommendation but manage to read a few blogger mention that this place is not bad. So its good to head there. With RM11.90++ which offer during lunch hour and we did not expect much.

This shop is located in the heart of Bandar Puteri which been one of my fav food hunting area, which I haven’t come across any bad restaurant of food yet under my category.

With their interior design like that, this place sure do remind me of a place when I was studying in Melbourne with a famous cheap Italian Restaurant located at Camberwell, 'Sofia Pizza House'. One of our favorite dining area but this place is the mini version of it.

The menu given to you with the mix and match of your choice of pasta and spaghetti.

How can we deny a mushroom soup with that kind of pricing in this kind of shop. We gave it a shot. 'Home made Wild Mushroom Soup' with RM5 and it turns out to be good. Just nice which is not too thick not too watery and filled with some chunks and blended mushroom. Something which you would not want to miss to order.

Then the waiter also headache with us, one shot order so many. Our order is like, errrr..this one 3, this one 2, this 1 + this 1 we want 4 then the kitchen suddenly got so busy as we are ordering food for around 11 pax and we were like occupying half of the restaurant.

'Spaghetti Ham Carbonara'

'Spaghetti Shrimp'

'Fish Fillet'

'Fettuchini Turkey Ham Carbonara'

'Fettuchini Mix Mushroom'

'Fettuchini Turkey Ham'

'Mini Hawaiian'

'Mini Chili Tuna'

'Mini Seafood Pizza'

'Mini Pepperoni Pizza'

'Mini Hawaiian Turkey Ham Pizza'

'Mini Hawaiian Pork Bacon Pizza'

Then when other people came into this restaurant moments later, it had become full house. The chef were getting frustrated with our order as we one shot every time order quite big amount yet there are other customer in the list also till we were asked by the waitress to slow down our order. Lol~

I am not going to comment individually but overall, their range of pizza does satisfy us that the waitress in the end also recommend us to mix and match the list which is not in the menu. Her recommendation turns out to be good like ‘Mini Hawaiian Pork Bacon Pizza’ and their spaghetti range is not consistent as when we were there early, it was good and towards more customer it change. In the end of the meal, we were quite satisfied yet they sure do have a friendly crew and of course Jonathan did ask when want to go again. Without any doubt I replied, anytime!

It would be advisable not to do mass order, to maintain their QC. I am glad that their portion is not big yet 2 person can finish but 3 person would be ideal as you can try out more variety. Their beer is quite reasonable too as we order it.

If you are looking for a cheap place to eat with not high expectation yet with that kind of pricing, surely this place would be in my recommendation list.

Buffett Tim Sum, Mandarin Palace Restaurant @ Federal Hotel , KL

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , , | Posted On Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 10:35 PM

I guess it was a season of eat all you can. Jonathan had been looking at a few promotional brochure and keep mentioning this place for quite a while as previously I kept rejecting him cuz I was a bit phobia on tim sum. Eat a few times in a week could scared you off a little but he kept mentioning that its worth 1..you see you see.. very nice eh, so the arrangement was on Friday and we went with the 4 K's and a few more.

I was having a hard time on taking the pictures as the light there is quite orangy and after taking a few I gave up with the rest of pictures. This would be a summerize posting as I am quite tied up with work load today. sorry for the simlified version.

The best thing is, you don have to travel to China to get to enjoy China tim sum, with a very well decorated China concept restaurant, which I was impress on it really gives you the kind of ‘umph’ that this would be the right place.

Welcoming you to the world of China. Its the entrance of the restaurant.

With an artistic kind of crafting art on the entrance wall had make you feel you are like in that country.

A 2 crafted big dragon circling the wall to makes the place with a great ambiance. With the waiter and waitress dress in traditional clothing that adds on the feel of it.

The dragon pillar which reminds me of the comic Dragon ball. lol~

A classic changing board place for women back in those days but with lubang lubang like dat, heee, the advantage is there. :p

The open kitchen concept.

For the first round of tim sum, we filled up our table with the available choice.

The foods here taste not bad with the price we are paying. With RM22++, Monday to Friday Lunch (I mistakenly put wrong pricing as previously I put RM16++) for a lunch buffet I didn’t put any high expectations, but one hell of the things happen.

I have been to quite a number of a restaurant, and this would be the WORST service hotel restaurant I ever went.

1st the tim sum for 2nd round we have to wait for 30 minutes at least on that day. Then we complain why is it like that, then what one of the guy manager told us they did not expect so much crowd and we just have to wait. With his way of talking and attitude had spark the fire of K and then one of the K complain you should prepare a lot what, since this is eat all you can buffet lunch. Then scold till the manager face change colour. One of the Auntie that push the cart also same case.

2nd was when the cart came out, the took the food to the same table 3 times, then start to piss us off till another K shouted ‘aunnnnttttiiiieeeeeee…. Where is our tim sum? So long still never come?’ with a lot of people staring at us, we don give a damm. Then they gave us a few baskets. Then shouted again, push the whole bloody cart here!! Is because they keep serving that first table like they were the VIP or Dato or whatever we just do not care. We just want our food as we don have that much time.

Then complain again, why is this happening. The manager was speechless and another lady manager(if not mistaken) which is much more polite and explain to us and we complain about that guy manager.

The food here is actually quite nice, for a normal serving type of tim sum. The things that I love the most or you should not miss are the ‘Polo Bun’. I took 4 of it.

HaiNan Western Food @ Mount Erskine, Penang

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , | Posted On at 1:12 PM

Most of the time when I am back to Penang, I would always try to dine in this place or my friend would eventually suggest this place also. This western food stall is quite well known to alot of people in Penang for its price, serving and the quality but it is always a pain in the ass as have to wait quite long.

This is the point where you order your choice.

With the price list and variety available, it sure wont disappoint you.

I do not know why, most of the time I would order this 'Mushroom Soup' which had a style of its own, taste a bit like Campbell soup but with their own recipe, a bit thick in flavour yet a very small pieces of mushroom chunks in it and also button mushroom slices. RM3 (if not mistaken)

'Chicken Chop' which happens to be one of our favourite in our ordering since from high school till now. A very plain style but the best thing was the gravy that shower on it. Well fried with crispy on the outer layer yet the chicken taste soft in the inside. RM6.50

'Chicken Maryland' not my type of order which comes out to be everything very dry, but my friend do like it very much. RM8

My usual order 'Mixed Grill' RM15 which had a price increase already but still with the amount of meat I got no complain, as it comes with lamb, pork, beef, bacon, egg and sausages. One plate is enough to kill me. My order of this as I always request for the 'Chicken Chop Gravy' which goes along with it perfectly.

Advisable to go there early or after 11 to avoid long wait. If you are very hungry, I would not advise to go there also. The usual wait if you are lucky 20 mins is the fastest. One of my favourite place to look for western food, which I still think the price is quite cheap. This place is very easily spotted as its just right on the roadside. Recommended~

Restaurant Bak Kut Teh Kim In @ Sri Petaling

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , | Posted On at 1:10 PM

On lunch time, Karen took her car for tyre repair around that area, and we wanted to go for another restaurant but it was close on that day. Lazy to walk around so we thought of pick this shop.

This shop, no matter how many times we pass by, the business is always either empty or a few tables in the afternoon, not too sure at night.

Order the usual for a Bak Kut Teh meal which is must have:

'Vegetable' which mild in taste that covered with the fried garlic and some oyster sauce. Nothing to comment on.

'Taufu' as it was soak with the soup base yet you can taste quite heavy of the taufu skin taste which had overpower the soup base.
The main 'Mix of Bak Kut Teh' which include alot of pig spare part. The soup base is very mild in taste as we taste a bit more of soy sauce rather than the original soup taste and its quite disappointing. The pork meat in there is not soft yet some part you have to chew quite long like bubble gam.

The price for this lunch is around RM55 for 4 person which I think is the market price..

Taiwanese Desert, Snowflake @ SS15, Subang

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , , , , | Posted On Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 1:23 AM

As I always hunt for desert to eat and my friend been telling me this place for quite sometime and finally, manage to make some time out of it to try out. Located in the heart of SS15 filled with students, most business would be good and this stall is located on level 1 of the shop lot which I believe on weekdays, the crowd is a lot but this round I went on weekend, and its full house too.

Taiwan desert is always in my mind just do not know why. Maybe is because the input I had in my mind was Taiwan Street food. hrmm...

The ingrediants that are made of for their desert.

A simple nice and cosy area which they have indoor and outdoor for smokers too.

In this shop is famous for its signature item which is you pick and choose. There are 3 steps for you to do that with the price of RM4.90 each.

1) Choose your favorite (consist of 3 flavour)
2) Choose your topping (5 types to choose from)

Or if you are lazy, you can directly choose their bestseller desert. RM5.50
After ordering and paying, you will be given this Beeping UFO, which looks like landmine. Once your desert is ready, it will beep.

This is my order with the base of ‘Grass Jelly and Taro Balls' which is the bestseller. RM4.90

Then you will be given condense milk to be pour upon. I love this desert very much, tasty as it look, soft grass jelly and very flavorful. A perfect desert to be hunt for.

My friend she order, the ‘Signature Desert’ which the most people ordering and serve with grass jelly as the base, peanut and red bean. Both also taste about the same but for a starter this would be a good choice to start off with. A great combination flavor when eat together. RM5.50

Certainly I am coming back to this shop to try out their other desert like soya bean with yau char koay which is one of the famous item there too. Definitely recommending to desert lover.

Would be advisable to share if you come after your dinner, its quite a big portion. Price wise of course is a bargain for the size you are getting as I have underestimate it and I was very full after finish the whole bowl.
