California Pizza Kitchen @ KLCC

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , | Posted On Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 11:32 PM

This year, I guess some couple would be happy and some couples would not be happy as Valentine’s Day this year falls on the first day of Chinese New Year. I would say it as double happiness but to most couple they would most probably be at their each individual family each. To me, every day is also a Valentine’s Day and sure we can bring forward the celebration couples of days earlier.

But there in Malaysia there are many franchises in the market but you can only see one by CPK is to maintain their best quality to ensure customer satisfaction that originates from the states. Thus, with their originality which their head chef often check in, California Pizza Kitchen as prepare a special menu for most of the couples to celebrate this wonderful event by introducing the special menu.

California Kitchen

This restaurant had always been my favorite restaurant with its nice ambiance over look the KLCC water fountain, and sure its good place for me to catch up with my good friend over a great dinner and a long relaxing conversation.

California Kitchen (2)

This place is usually packed with lunch and dinner crowd. If you are looking for a good spot by the window, it is advisable to go there early.

California Kitchen (3)

With the friendly host, we ordered our drinks that looks very good in the menu. 'Strawberry Banana', the taste of the banana did not over power the strawberry, yet it is very freshing to drink in this hot weather. RM12.50

California Kitchen (4)

I just love my 'Mango Strawberry Colada'. The taste it was blended so well, that I keep sucking on it till I had brain freeze, not too sweet yet its something that I prefer. RM 12.50

California Kitchen (5)

Kick off with the very first dish in the menu. 'Lettuce Wraps with Chicken and Shrimps' When it was served, honestly I look real plain like the normal restaurant fried, but I have underestimate this dish. Perfectly fried with ‘wok hei’ filled with scallop, shrimp, water chestnut with a bit of crispy noodle is something that I enjoy. RM26

California Kitchen (6)

Then I was taught to eat it with the lettuce and wrap with it. It taste alot better with it.

California Kitchen (7)

I guess heavy meal had make me loves salad, as when they serve 'Miso Salad' (with grilled chicken Full - RM 22, Half - RM19, add grilled shrimps - RM14) my eyes was starring at the whole greenery plate, looks plain but tempting to me.

The saled is very fresh that top with Miso Dressing is my favourite among the others. Not too strong of miso saltiness that just makes me eating more than 2 plates.

California Kitchen (8)

If you are someone who loves some meat on your salad then 'Chinese Chicken Salad' (Full RM 23, Half RM 20) Soft Chicken Meat breast that top ontop with sweet and sour dressing is good to start off with by giving you more appetite.

California Kitchen (9)

'Thai Crunsh Salad' (Full - RM 29, Half - RM 26) that added on with peanut dressing do taste abit like Gado-Gado(indonesian food) but in American style. Love the peanut sauce that blend in well with the fresh salad.

California Kitchen (10)

'Garlic Noodles' with mild in taste, something light which is not too oily yet the flavour is just right. I would say its hard to cook to maitain all the mild flavours in it. (Add Chicken RM 29, Add Shrimp RM36, With Chicken and Shrimp RM39)

California Kitchen (11)

Surprise me not with 'Kung Pao Spaghetti' (add chicken RM29, Add Shrimp RM 36, With Chicken and Shrimp RM39) never thought that it could taste so good in spaghetti, springy spaghetti with a bit of spiciness added with fresh juicy prawns as I just loves this the most. Then only realize that this one of the best seller in the restaurant too.

California Kitchen (12)

When normally go for pizza I would request Tabasco but in CPK they do have another special sauce that goes on very well with the pizza which is Cholula Hot Sauce.

California Kitchen (13)

'Peking Duck Pizza' RM 33
Pan roasted duck breast, Mozzarella cheese, soy-glazed Shitake mushrooms, crispy wontons, silvered leek and ginger Hoisin Sauce.

California Kitchen (14)

Loves the crispy edge that been baked in the firewood oven had made the pizza taste much better but as I always like their thin crisp add on with the Chululo sauce, its just hard to resist.. Some people might find it weird as Peking Duck on Pizza?

California Kitchen (15)

As the meal coming to an ends, I tried on their Cocktails with their very own signature 'CPK Tropical Tea' RM18.
Dark Rum, Fresh Lemonade, splash of mango juice and fresh brew ice tea

California Kitchen (16)

California Kitchen (17)

'Electric Lemonade' RM 20
Vodka, Fresh lemonade and a splash of Blue Curacao

California Kitchen (18)

At CPK, their desert is hard to resist. With the quality that they added in, I do not mind to pay for the price and also just got to know that their desert is purely imported from the states, that is why they are abit pricey.

California Kitchen (19)

'Red Velvet Cake' is something hard to find in the market, I mean with the originality of it. If you are a big fan of the cake, then this is one of the place to hunt for it. RM 22

California Kitchen (20)

One of my favourite which introduce by Lyssa. 'Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae'. Loves the thick chocolate base brownie top with a scoop of ice-cream and hot fudge sauce is hard for most girl to resist, if they do not plan to look at their weighing machine for the next few days. (its a bit sweet though but share it with 2 person its just perfect) RM19

California Kitchen (22)

'Tiramisu' in CPK had added into one of my favourite list. Abit of alcohol base with strong coffee flavour and very well layered soft base that once put into your mouth the aroma will burst into flavours and melt. Just as I expected. RM22

California Kitchen (23)

'Chocolate Banana Cake' is something new to me. Chocolate topping had added the extra kick in it yet it was not too sweet but with the soft spongy cake base.. you just imagine the taste. RM20

My dinner Combo Kyros Kebab & Boost Juice @ KLCC

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , | Posted On Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 11:19 PM

Whenever I come to KLCC and if it comes to food, I will miss this two. Just do not know why and this two are my all time favorite in KLCC food court area. First would be the Kyros Kebab as this would be their best stall in their chain.

Kebab (5)

Kebab (4)

The ordering process would be similar like Subway just that you can let them know which are the vegetable ingredient that you want or do not want.

Kebab

My all time favorite ordering would be ‘Combo Kebab add Mushroom (Lamb and Chicken)' around RM11.

Kebab (2)

Then they will prepare the wraps and add in the vegetable and I have always ask them to add in more onions for me too (foc).

Kebab (3)

The meat is prepare and cut fresh from the pit area.

Kebab (6)

Tadaaa…this would be my lovely dinner as I love the taste of it, its not dry yet very juicy from the sauce of mayonise, a bit of thousand island sauce and their special sauce yet the meat of lamb is filled with the taste and chicken combines well too.

****************

My meal would not be complete with my all time favorite drink, Boost Juice with its origin from Aus and it was one of my diet drink when I was studying, only had this for lunch or sometimes dinner and finally this brand had landed in KLCC few months back.

In the market I felt that this is one of the best with its ingredient that they are using.

Boost

Boost (2)

Boost (3)

My favorite drink of the area is ‘Mango Magic’ RM12.50 large. The mango that blend with some banana is flavorful yet not sweet and just love the taste of it.

California Pizza Kitchen @ KLCC

It has been quite a while since I last dine and been to KLCC. Then suddenly thought of eating California Pizza, cuz I love the dining atmosphere there. So for the 2 of us, usually we will eat meals have to complete with a desert. So total order is 3 dishes.

Usually will always order fettuccini but this round decided to go for something new, so we tried on 'Portabello Mushroom Ravioli' also on creamy sauce which I always prefer. The come with mushroom filling and I would say I am enjoying every bite of it. Creamy and thick yet delicious which can just make me lick the whole plate clean. To some people may find it quite ‘jelek’ as its quite thick creamy sauce but sharing with 2 is sure the right amount. RM32

Then a dish that we seldom miss which is the pizza in there by using firewood to make it with the order of 'B.L.T.' a very thin crispy inside out as the layer and crust of the pizza yet very generous with the ingredient and with the taste of my liking just cant have enought of it. By the time we finish this 2, our stomach is so obvious round and big. That leaves us have to cancel for the desert as there is no more room for it. RM28

One of the place that I would come once in a while for the food or when I need to relax or a good conversation.

G Gelato @ KLCC

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , | Posted On Monday, September 14, 2009 at 12:23 AM

Since I came back from Melbourne, Gelato has always been my most preferred ice cream compare to Hagen Das or Baskin. Previously did tried out a couple of stalls but didn’t took photo of it as it was before my blogging era until I found a stall which really keep me going back was this brand. G Gelato but I am not sure is it the same as Pavilion stall(my most preferred stall).

Why gelato is my most preferred choice as its made daily and the texture of it is more dense. Made by a lot of fresh ingredients and sugar level is less compare to those 2 I mention.

The range of flavor definitely attracts me a lot with a section of sweeter and classic area which my favorites are 'Hazelnut, Roche', and chocolate range is good.

Another area will be the fruity range. With my most preferred choice 'Durian, Mango and banana' or during high temperature lime would be in my radar cooling yet sour.

As I was at KLCC and was craving for Ice cream then found it. The price range is from RM6.80-RM13. Cons and cups available. The quality of course varies. Sometimes it would be very nice some times it would be very so so cuz it has to depends on the people that are doing it and the quality of ingredient they are getting on the day.

San Fransisco Steak House @ KLCC

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , | Posted On Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 12:25 AM

I do not know what struck me. It just seems that, I was quite lazy that day. Even when I was walking, I was like dragging myself to walk. So the pics that I took a bit blur as my hand quite shaky.

So again, I was in charge of taking care of the client, so have to bring them go makan again…. They mention they wanted to take steak, did thought of a restaurant in Jln Ampang a steakhouse but they also mention they want to do some shopping, so ended up in KLCC and San Francisco Steak House came into my mind.

The environment is not bad.

pics are abit blurr..I chin chai took only.

This dining area, is a great place as it overlook towards KLCC fountain area.

One of the cosy area to sit on.

'Ice Lemon Tea' which I think a lot of places can do far more better than that, and maybe I was used to Chilis or TGI that I am paying RM8 I would get to enjoy free flow of it but disappointingly NO and the taste of it, I still prefer the 1 they serve at TGI or Chilis. A bit tasteless.

'Fresh Mango' as the name mention is truly no fresh mango detected, which it taste like you buy in Cold Storage or Carrefour box juice. Surely is not pure or fresh. RM9.50

In the menu, the illustration is so nice and well taken. Surprisingly, the food came out, another story.

Usually, I start my meal with a soup, and in the menu this name caught my attention, so I ordered 'Lobster Bisque' at RM 14.90. The bread on the outer layer was toast perfectly to crispy on the outside soft inside, filled with creamy soup base and just nice, not too thick It seems that after stirring, there is not detection of any lobster meat or any other ingredient but I sure do enjoy my soup.

'San Francisco Salad' Is nothing much special to comment on with normal salad dressing. RM 13.90

'Atlantis Platter' Sound bombastic, and picture illustration looks good. When it was served in front of me, I did stare at it quite a while, till the client ask me what’s wrong. I told them, you see on this pic and see my serving. They also shake their head. I would say like SHIT, so much different compare to the picture in the menu. This was my serving, I would say it is a disastrous meal for me. The whole thing in my plate is not fresh, the mussels and scallop taste geli, ashy feel, salmon is quite overcook and the fish taste is strong, the best part is the prawns,Tiger Pranws which is so small that it looks like 2 50cents on my plate.

I was disappointed by the meal and I complain on it, I asked, is it the prawns meant to be like that? The answer by the waiter is YES. I asked again. So small? YES. Then ask them can I change cuz the whole plate is not fresh, seems like doesn’t care less to change for me.
Charge at RM44.90. What a price for this kind of serving.

Client took 'T-Bone Steak' Which was order was medium rare came out well done. So I would say a well done job and at a fantastic price RM58.90

'Tenderloin' RM58.90 Is a bit better, slightly softer which is not serve well done. 75% done came out which they are quite happy over it. Taste so so. Nothing special to comment on.

I think this is 'Salmon with Fillet Steak'. The salmon all taste pretty much the same, again which is not fresh, and the steak I have no idea why is it all the serving is all well done. The meat ended up hard and chewy. RM35.90.

'Americian Grill' served with Steak, Salmon and Lamb(if not mistaken) and charge at RM43.90. In this plate, only the lamb taste slightly better than the rest.

After eating and trying out some of the foods there, only one word from me. I BANNED this place. The price is sky rocket with the quality of food they are serving. One waitress served us very well, the rest like aiii…. Speechless. I just would not recommend any one to this disastrous restaurant. If you are only looking for a drink, it should be alright.
