Restaurant Rasa Sayang @ Jln Yap Kwan Seng,KL

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , | Posted On Monday, October 5, 2009 at 1:41 AM

I have been to this place quite frequent for yam cha but didn’t really take the initiative to take the pictures of the food here. Maybe I was already sick of the food there. Like the place which is quite cold on the outside atmosphere, and easy parking space that had made us go there frequently.

‘Maggie Goreng’ was fried to very dry, very normal and nothing special about it.

‘Mee Goreng’ did not fried enough that came out like bit wet and requested to add on extra spicy but came out mild. Again, nothing to brag about it.

Among the rest, I would say ‘Fried Koey Teow’ taste better but not the best. Still lack of flavor and not frying skills.

This place used to serve nice fried food but then it had been a while since last went there and the last time I went was weeks back, I would say the food quality had drop tremendously. Now, we no longer head to this place for yam cha anymore as the price there is quite expensive for a mamak stall.

Sri Nirwana Maju, Banana Leaf Rice@ Bangsar, KL

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , | Posted On Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 2:41 PM

It was part of the Friday mood setting in. So one my friend suggested that we go here makan as they served very nice Indian food where she used to come by when she was working at NST. She is like totally craving for this place.

It was quite early when we reach there. If I am not mistaken it was like before 12pm and gosh, the place already full house. Then its like wah lan eh!!! Y like dat.. siau 1 ah. This place can reserved 1 some more. Impressive. First mamak stall that I came accross that can make reservation.

While we are waiting so I went up to took a few pics of what they got to offer. Actually this is not my first visit, been here many many times, just that the last visit was couple of years back.

All the colour of the curry, looks tempting and my stomach is like drumming already.

You get to choose a few selection of the side entry to add on for your meal which taste veli good ah~

‘Mango Lassi’ which got influence to order as she say, bok bok..its good, u must order since b4 reach this place. They have reinvented with add on their very own recepi, tat’s what I thought as it has a strong taste of mango not like the normal lassi which I have tasted. Its pretty good.

Before you were served with your main meal, you will be served with a piece of banana leave and some side entrĂ©e that you would like to have on your dish. The usual my friend took was ‘Cucumber, Potato(if not mistaken) and Friend Onion’ which you must not miss!

‘Nasi Briyani’ it’s a bit dry and oily which is perfect for a serving, filled with the spices aroma which accompany by the curry just makes you want to have more.

‘Vegetarian Briyani’ its flavorful yet something new to me but taste simple and nice.

‘Mee Goreng’ which is mine and requested to be extra spicy, which turns out to be spicy enough to make my face turn red in the mid day afternoon, a bit wet and with the limau squeeze on it its just a killer.

‘Fried Sotong’ deep fried to perfection, covers on the aroma of their seasoning and eat along with briyani and curry, awwww… Its’ Good.!

‘Papadem’ is a companion on curry rice that you must have. Crispy inside out like keropok udang.

Something that I seldom miss with briyani is ‘Mutton Curry’. Not so hard on the meat which is soft enough to chew yet got a bit of the mutton taste which I prefer.

You know, I were ask to try by my friend and they prank on me. Eat this la..very nice 1..salty salty like dry salted fish, by the look of it doesn’t seems like 1. A small bite is enough to make your ear come out with smoke and face turn red. Damm spicy. Maybe for those who can take spicy food, its perfect for you.

This is a magic soup that will be given to you. Once drink, you will need a bottle of water 20-30 mins later.

After all your meals been serve, you will be given a choice of what kind of curry you prefer. From the top is ‘Dal, fish curry and chicken curry’ which I mix all of them. Damm good. Thick in flavor.
As the its getting later in the afternoon, the people going into this place is just craze. While you were eating, you were given a stare by all those people waiting like, you have to eat fast….you have to eat fasttt… I need to sit down and eat. I am veli hungry!

Gives you that kind of uneasy staring that you have to speed up your eating.

However I must say that, this place provides first class service and with the quality of food they are serving with the resonable price to pay, surely I am coming back for more.

Williams Corner @ Tmn Mayang

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , | Posted On Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 12:52 AM

It was late at night and my friend were hungry, have to accompany them out for supper and they suggest Williams Corner I was like har...aiiii... Never really like this mamak. Cuz it is freaking over priced with the quality they are having and simply charging. As I know they are very famous but I still prefer Murni over William even though both of them are siblings.

This is what recommend by my friend, 'Honey Dew with Longan'. Taste better than the other 1.

What I mean the other one is this 'Ribena with Longan' what my friend like it alot. I found that it is too sweet and with the longan that they are giving okay lah! No complain. But got charge RM7 for each I was like haih...again..kena potong.

This is the 'Cheeze Nan' which my friend said till how good and how good but honestly it was over rated by my friend. Taste not bad, the nan is too thick, but the cheeze never got pull as high as what we eat in pizza or in Stevens Corner. Still find that Steven's Corner one taste much nicer than this alot.RM 5 for this I thought to my self the most reasonable food of all.

Comes to this again was introduce by my friend saying how good it were 'Carbonara Chicken and Mushroom' and the portion came, I was a bit disappointed for a 4 person to eat on it. After divided by 4, I can even count the spaghetti that I have on my plate which is not more than 10 stripes. The ingredient was a bit less and I was not impress by the cream of it. After get to know the price of this thing I was like WTFf.f.f.f.........RM25 for this idiot thing. Which the spaghetti that I ate can be counted. Kena potong again!!!

Comes to the last meal which after they had not enough of it and order another 1. 'Chicken Meat Ball Bolognese'. When the serving came, I was like Wahhhh...the 3 of you can finish boh..It is like 2 times bigger compare to the carbonara. While they were eating they keep ask me to guess how much already this time kena potong. I was guess around RM30 for this thing as this stall is famous for 'potong'ing or kena slashing' The taste of it not bad, the chicken ball was stuff with a small cube of cheeze which taste not bad, the sauce is quite unique which taste much better than the carbonara. The best part, considering after diving into 3 plates and the left over was still alot compare to the carbonara. Even if were given to me, still left a bit and it is not countable. It is alot I would say.

Then during paying time again, Cheng cheng chenggg....how much? Again I guess RM30, the other 1 RM35, the other 1 RM 25 and finally when the worker came, RM25.. I was like Cipettt....this 1 RM 25 and the carbonara RM25. Wah...!!!!!feel like kena Potong kau kau. Such a huge difference. The meat ball was full with ingredient and the other 1 was like less gilar...

As I always rate this place, this mamak is for the rich to come only. With the kind of price I am paying, I can even add just alil more to enjoy myself at a better restaurant. Average for a person to dine here, if you do order a meal + a drink would cost the cheapest I think around RM15-RM20. But usually my friend they all kena RM25-RM30 per pax.(to pay for an environment got lipas smell, not bad) Even for their serving is big, but I still think that it is way too ex for a mamak stall.

Steven's Tea Garden @ Sunway Pyramid

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , | Posted On Friday, February 20, 2009 at 1:39 PM

Little did I know that now Steven's corner had evolve to Steven's Tea Garden, Mamak also changing to concept dining. SHIT!!! Everything is changing. What I heard from my friend before was Steven's Corner at The Gardens there. As we were looking for food on yesterday nite and were about to head to Asia Cafe. Then found out that it is Steven's corner. So decided to try it as all the time I dine it at OUG.

A very concept mamak that it have been compare to traditional mamak shop. Even in the wall they do display how the history of Steven's corner grow. From a small hawker paddle to become what it have today. Interesting fact~

The more interesting fact was, the service was so bad till we cannot imagine. To ask them to clear the table it took them 15 minutes and I have to call them alot of times. As my patience running out, I was yelling at them to ask them clear which was 15 minutes later.

The more interesting thing was the pricing in the menu. Every figure in cents is in 88 cents. Lol. So chinese concept which is 'Fatt ahhhh...fatt ahhh...'(cantonese)

One of the drinks order were 'Capricon' a mango Lassi thing. It do taste just like what you buy from the supermarket Lassi just that it is a bit watery. RM 6.88 for this.

This is my order as it is called 'Mee Goreng Mamak'. Never eat before as find the name unique and decided to order and to my surprise it was something like what I tapau from the malay stall for my breakfast before work. It taste dry, spicy and a bit warm. The one I get for breakfast is RM1.20 and this one cost me RM5.88. Welll, the taste was not at expected.

My friends ordered 'Nasi Goreng Kambing'. The rice was fried till dry and so do the mutton. It was like a serving from the Sahara Desert. Both of my friends were complaining also and one of them did not finish. Selling cheap cheap at RM 7.88

To my experience for this, will never return back for dinning purpose or even drinks. Bad service! Bad response!
