When all thoughts about street food or hawker center, a street food which one of my real favorite that located in the heart of the city that covers variety nice food and also one of the place that most people would not want to miss is one of the classic and famous street, New Lane. The street is packed with side by side hawker and even some of the stalls are repeated with their very own originality and depends on your taste bud. Every stall enjoys their own customer.

New Lane

This place was sardin packed with tourist on my last dining outing there. When I was back for Chinese New Year, I visited this place twice as I did miss some of my favourite stalls and most of the stalls here worth to be recommended.

New Lane (2)

Even people from the west came by here to do their food shooting.

New Lane (3)

One of the stalls which is very famous or a signature of the street is the ‘Chu Chap Chuk’ with all the pig spare part hanging in the stalls and one of hawker that start operate around 5pm then you can see a lot of old and young came by to ta pau back. RM4-RM6

New Lane (4)

If you do not like Pig Spare Part porridge, then you can op of 'Duck Porridge' which is very good too, with its well roast duck meat chopped and added in it with the aromatic duck sauce.

New Lane (5)

Fried Oyster in this area is pretty good too, with its big oyster added on after deep fried egg base.

New Lane (6)

There are 2 ‘Wantan Mee Noodle’ that I like the difference is the noodle used. This stall the noodle tend to be not so springy but it has its own style and I like their ‘Sui Kow’

New Lane (7)

This is one of the best ‘Tong Sui’ that you can even customade the ingredient that you want. One of their signature is also the ‘Almond Soup with Yau Char Kuai’ and I believe the other stall that they are operating at Lebuh Kimberly.

New Lane (8)

The tong sui soup base which is cook to perfect taste that suits me because its not too sweet.

New Lane (9)

If you are looking to taste the local taste of ‘Char Koey Teow’ this stall had always been frying nonstop even I prefer to take it myself is even faster than sit and wait.

New Lane (10)

Deep fried with wok hei and its very cheap too compare to Lorong Selamat and to me it taste much better than there.

New Lane (11)

New Lane (12)

I just love the ‘Curry Mee’ from this stall, with is clear santan soup and home made chili that stir in it makes it extra umph and chili aromatic that mix well in it.

New Lane (13)

Even though here had been my favorite but I this would be my first time to try on ‘Chee Cheong Fun’ here but of course my still all time favourite is the one at Genting Kopitiam at Island Glades.

New Lane (14)

It was steam well soft, yet the traditional method is with har kou (prawn paste) and add some chili is good, and some people do eat it with oil and sesame. Another version of it.

New Lane (15)

If you are craving for 'Ikan Pangang Bakar' . . .

New Lane (16)

this stall really serve a nice pangang fish but its just that overprice.

New Lane (17)

'Beef Ball Soup' in this kopitiam served very good lembu soup base.

New Lane (18)

Strong taste of the soup yet with the cow spare part is something I cannot resist. Dipping it with chili sauce is just taste fantastic and there are people who actually pour the whole chili sauce into the soup, stir and eat it. RM4-RM8

New Lane (19)

Another stall of 'Char Koey Teow' which is located inside the kopitiam is my dad's favourite but I do not really like it. (again depends on your taste bud) RM4.50

New Lane (20)

New Lane (21)

This stall ‘Wan Tan Mee’ we prefer to order the soup base instead of the dry one, another one of my favorite stall. It depends on my mood to go for which 1, sometimes I prefer the road side and sometimes I prefer this. Both is equally good. RM3

New Lane (24)

For desert wise, there are two stalls located at the end of the street which is nearby Sunway Hotel. One is the ‘Apong Telur’ and ‘Kuih Ketayap’ which is 5 pieces(can mix) for RM2.

New Lane (25)

And last my FAVOURITE ‘Apom Manis Stall’ which I had been patronizing since when I was a kid till now. I find it this is the best so far and it is even better than Apom Guan (located in front of Union Primary) and the owner which is very funny. This stall was started by his dad and now the son had took over.

New Lane (26)

There are 2 type of base which is the normal one (classic flavor) and the one with Pandan (aromatic in flavor)

New Lane (27)

As I always love the one in 'Jagung' and 'Banana' is not bad too. I just love how he added on the extra flavour on the kuih base as when I bite it, I can still bite on the tiny coconut slices in it that makes it very aromatic. I always ended up having 5 peices even I am very full.
