Back to my delay post of my Hong Kong trip, this is the itenery for day 3 that we are heading to Macau for a day trip. So we woke up at 7am and have to gather at lobby by 8am as the tour guide going to pick us up for this trip. The day trip package with tour guide that we had arranged cost about HKD 350 each including the ship fare.
It was early in the morning when we reach there, as we still have 45 minutes before departing and we grab a quite breakfast. Ask the tour guide which is the best restaurant to have for breakfast and he recommended Macau Restaurant. He added that he don earn commission on this ya.
When we were looking at the restaurant we saw the logo on the side of the restaurant and looks very familiar and only realize that it is the logo of Nando’s. Then we were thinking, no copy right meh? Can just use like dat 1 ah. Then later only found out that Macau was conquer by Portuguese before and Nando’s is originate from there. It was early in the morning when we reach there, as we still have 45 minutes before departing and we grab a quite breakfast. It was still quite early there and in the restaurant had not much people, so we occupied the whole outside area of the restaurant.
Again, one thing I like about Hong Kong is the way they offer the breakfast set. Set A, B, C or D. which they called it ‘A Chan or B Chan’
They only pass us 2 menus to choose from. So particularly we nearly everything offer in there.
We were also told that we must try the ‘Portugese Tart’ which is very very nice. Highly Recommended by the tour guide. Which cost HKD 7 per piece as you can see.
The very first order that came was the ‘Portuguese Tart’ which is just directly infront of us. The quantity that we order that makes the whole oven left 1/ 4. The outer layer of the tart is crispy, never over baked. One bite in, the filling in the middle is soft custard that brings out the sweetness of it, never too sweet but just perfect and the top layer just burn with the right temperature that create a thin layer of crust. A good appetizer to start off with, as expected.

Enjoying my bites of the tart’s.
‘Set D – Thick Toast with Butter Sweet Corn, Ham and Sausage with Cullet Fish Fillet’. We were wondering how they manage to cook the ham, and the fillet was fried to golden brown. Although it looks very plain but the taste of it is way much nicer. The fillet is very soft that shows the sign of freshness and again eat along with the toast and the chili sauce its just perfect. The corn was steam to ngam ngam and a bit of salt to bring up the taste. The price is HKD 26
All the set above comes with a 'Tea, Coffee or Yin Yeong(mix)'

My order is 'Set A-Macaunese Crispy Bun w/pork chop and Scramble Egg'. The bun is seriously very nice, as come out what taken in the pic. The pork is fried to perfection, never too meaty in the inside and the sauce that the use just the right one to eat it along with the crispy bun. First bite in it, the crisps on the side just fall off, the taste in the bun something like butter but its not, a fragrance which is nice to eat along with the pork chop. The scramble egg is very soft and it will melts in your mouth. HKD 25 for this.
‘Noodle with Harm Choy’. A plain noodle soup that makes it stand out is the sour soup that they pour in. The soup never too sour that makes your jaw bones wanna fall out but a good starter of the meal. Share with the rest.
‘Set C – Oatmeal, Ham and Egg Sandwich’. When got served to our table, was a bit shocking that it just so bloody plain and cost HKD 26,even more expensive than mine. The only thing is unique is the bread and the ham. It is very chewy and eat along with the toasted oat bread and some of the chili sauce there, is just satisfying for a plain meal.
Since the day reach Hong Kong, this dish was never out of sight ‘Jar Jiang Mian’. The one in this restaurant wasn’t really that nice. The gravy is a bit sweet and not warm. The Maggie is abit over cook which makes it a bit soft instead of springy.
The thing that I will never miss for my breakfast is their ‘Polo Yau Bun’. With a thick layer of butter in there that slowly melting in it and the warm polo bun just makes the taste even better. The top crust one bite the crust will just fall down. Not too sweet and just perfectly baked. I ended up ate 2. HKD 9 if not mistaken.
'Sausage with Fried Egg'. Nothing much to comment on this, its just way too plain and cost HKD 20. shit!
