Western Cuisine @ Pavilion Food Republic

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , | Posted On Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at 2:26 AM

Do not know what to eat most of the time as I can say like I am at Pavilion most of the time. So only stalls that I have not tried in the food court, so try this western cuisine for today.

I ordered 'Black Pepper Chicken' served with half chicken. It is not bad, would not rate this as bad, the chicken meat is soft and juicy with the gravy of black paper sauce they pour over it. The mash potato is nice with the gravy, if without taste bad. The price for this lovely dish is at RM13.90nett.

Asia Cafe @ SS15

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , , | Posted On at 2:06 AM

This cafe really reminds me back to those days when I was studying at Taylor where Asia Cafe did not exist yet. It was only like an abandoned area with kampung style deco and a western food restaurant. INTI high rise building were never build yet also. Well, well, back to Asia cafe for food. It is like a hawker center or called it a food court without air con. But sure do famous for watching soccer. Have alot of big screens TV around.

I was so hungry so I ordered this 'Red Wine Pork Chop rice set' in one of the stalls in there. Asking me where about, ermmm... it is nearby I don't know which is which. Ahh..remembered, the stretch that same with the firewood pizza stall or can say that in front of the TakoYaki stall stretch. In the picture display at the stall is sure look very tempting, bout the same as what I took, but honestly the red wine sauce is quite strong, makes it not really good to savior. The pork meat is soft even suits for grandpa to eat and chew. For this dish is RM7.50 (if not mistaken)rating 5/10. okay lah~

This is the 'Mee Yoke Prawn Mee' a.k.a Hokkien Mee, what pg ppl called. Taste very nice, enough salty, and mix with everything you can get, like intestine, pai kuat, and extra added small prawns.RM 5 only. Rating 7/10

I have always in love with the fire woods pizza, as I find it nicer but not to be denied that Franky's pizza is not bad also. Was walking around like hungry zombie, then look at the pizza like quite alot people ordering so decided to join the crowd. This 1 can't remember called what but sure do remember it is no.16 in the menu. Got pineapple, ham, cheeze and don know what others already but sure do know that among the 3, this is the best. The aroma of the pizza is very nice, soft, yet juicy with the tomato sauce base and not too thick. Small size of pizza is priced at RM9

Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Genre: Drama/Fantasy/Mystery/Romance

When I read the synopsis, then directly thought of the show that Andy Lau acted years back whereby he wanted to grow mature more faster and took a potion that makes him live in the world for the next 3 days and ages very fast.

Well, this movie had the other effect which is Brad Pitt was born old and aged backwards. From old to young. I must not denied that the movie is very good, with their make up of Brad Pitt being very old, mature and success, teenage time and baby time.

The movie is like a story telling type whereby talk from how he got bored and till he is dead by the lover in Brad Pitt's diary. Nice romance and touching part and of course not to be missed out is where Brad Pitt in his teenage look. I must say that he sure do look good and 'Yeng' as a guy I was impress also like the few girls sitting behind me.. liked 'Aiyooo, OMG!!!he really look so yeng(good)' I am in loved with him...I was like WTF are they over reacting ah? but not only them, after telling to my friends they were like also the same reaction..lol~ cut the whole thing short, you must watch this movie.

Cut the whole thing short, you must watch this movie for people who loves drama, even more highly recommended.

Eden Lake

Genre : Horror
The first thing after I watch this show I must blog this out. One of the worst movie of the year. In my E list. Ermmm...what they are mentioning about terrifying or what so ever is just not my taste of movie.

The whole movie is about a couple going for a relaxation of vacation in Eden Lake and were disturb by a bunch of kids around 12 years old. Then the guy went over and approach the gang and ask them to lower their tune of music and that is where the horror begin.

The bf got abducted by the kids and were torture and died. Then the gf were running here and there and went 'amok' kill one of the kids. In the end of the movie the girl also died as she was killed by the kids dad. The whole movie was cheap skate, as using the same clothes all the way and was about small kids gangsterism to kill 2 adults. When the movie finish every 1 is like 'HAhhhh'....

Do not recommend to watch or if were to buy DVD please think twice.

Steven's Tea Garden @ Sunway Pyramid

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , | Posted On Friday, February 20, 2009 at 1:39 PM

Little did I know that now Steven's corner had evolve to Steven's Tea Garden, Mamak also changing to concept dining. SHIT!!! Everything is changing. What I heard from my friend before was Steven's Corner at The Gardens there. As we were looking for food on yesterday nite and were about to head to Asia Cafe. Then found out that it is Steven's corner. So decided to try it as all the time I dine it at OUG.

A very concept mamak that it have been compare to traditional mamak shop. Even in the wall they do display how the history of Steven's corner grow. From a small hawker paddle to become what it have today. Interesting fact~

The more interesting fact was, the service was so bad till we cannot imagine. To ask them to clear the table it took them 15 minutes and I have to call them alot of times. As my patience running out, I was yelling at them to ask them clear which was 15 minutes later.

The more interesting thing was the pricing in the menu. Every figure in cents is in 88 cents. Lol. So chinese concept which is 'Fatt ahhhh...fatt ahhh...'(cantonese)

One of the drinks order were 'Capricon' a mango Lassi thing. It do taste just like what you buy from the supermarket Lassi just that it is a bit watery. RM 6.88 for this.

This is my order as it is called 'Mee Goreng Mamak'. Never eat before as find the name unique and decided to order and to my surprise it was something like what I tapau from the malay stall for my breakfast before work. It taste dry, spicy and a bit warm. The one I get for breakfast is RM1.20 and this one cost me RM5.88. Welll, the taste was not at expected.

My friends ordered 'Nasi Goreng Kambing'. The rice was fried till dry and so do the mutton. It was like a serving from the Sahara Desert. Both of my friends were complaining also and one of them did not finish. Selling cheap cheap at RM 7.88

To my experience for this, will never return back for dinning purpose or even drinks. Bad service! Bad response!

Revisit this restaurant as it has been years since dine in here. It was about 4-5 years back when my buddy's sister brought us here to eat and as I remembered it does not look like this. They have renovated. Decided to try again here.

It was during in the afternoon lunch time, so there were not much people in this restaurant but it is sure nice to sit and chat with friends here. From the food wise, I would rate it something like Madam Kwan.

In the drinks menu, what caught my attention was this, 'Coconut Mint Float'. Something unique. If you are here, I would highly recommended this drink. Has a scoop of ice cream and blended of the coconut meat and the taste of the mint and coconut goes along very well. Was not too sweet, just perfectly good for a refreshing drink price at RM8

For the 'Chicken Chop Set' comes with a bread. The bread was warm and just toasted but it do not have the bread taste and smell. The bread is not nice. Taste so plain even with the butter.RM15.50

The chicken chop sure do look very plain. It is like you can get it in any of the roadside or coffee shop western food. Looks even better. It is perfectly fried with the crust is crispy. The chicken cooked is soft on the inside. The veggie is nicely steam.

My order is the 'Nasi Bojari'. I can't take beef so change to curry chicken piece. I must say that this is a bad food. To compare with Madam Kwan, it is 10x much nicer. The cannot be denied that the chicken is nicely fried but it has a strong chicken smell, which did not wash properly and it was very salty. The curry chicken is so thick in 'santan' taste which make it a bit too sweet for it. The 'Nasi' is very dry and very salty also. I think the salt in the restaurant is very cheap. The prawn was not fresh and I did not finish this dish. Total FAILURE and it was very expensive. RM21.

Since the chicken chop is so dry and did not comes with a gravy so order the 'Mushroom Sauce'. In my life I have never eat before such a bad mushroom soup. Which the taste has very strong Chinese herb in it. Do not taste anyting like mushroom soup. More like when we have fever and you go to Chinese medicine shop and you boil it. Here, drink it all. Something like that. It cost RM3
'The Cendol' is a complimentary from the Chicken chop set. The taste of it is not bad especially the brown sugar syrup but the sad thing is the ice blended out is so rough that the more you take, it might damage on your upper throat. If you were to order it cost RM5

Well, for lunch it was a bad experience for the whole food which compare to 4-5 years back they are much nicer. So will temporary BANNED this shop at the moment with its pricing I would rather go somewhere else to have a better and nicer food. The bills comes in total around RM57.

Year 2009 before 18th Feb

Posted by Taufulou | | Posted On at 1:35 AM

Year 2009 before 18th February as alot of good and bad things happen. Let's talked about the bad one first.

I have never got such a bad luck streak during gambling session in Chinese New Year. Guess what!!! for those who go against me always win which makes it like one way ticket. Down!!!!! 2% up then downnnnnnn!!!!!!! in just 3 days, I told myself that my luck was not riding on my side.
Not only this:

Then it comes to minor car accident, not only once but twice on 1 day each. It was bloody idiot and do not know how is he driving the car, as at Hang Tuah station as usual very damm jamm and suddenly half way I was listening to music and BANG!! my car. Ish...Bloody hell, how can he come bang me la..since the traffic can't move. He must be dreaming. My car bonnet is dented. Then his Wiralution a bit bad damage compare to mine. He have to manually pull hard on the front part of the car to make sure it did not reach the cooling system area. . He mention that he was in a hurry to hospital and ask me to take down the number plate and his number to claim from him. DAMM!!! Just go ahead with the flow then.

Then the next following day, as I was walking back to take my car and my car was parting at horizontal and the car behind me was parking like 25% slope. It is something like during we took our P examination at the hill slop condition, that guy was stepping on the acceleration so hard and the car did not move forward, it was movie backwards whereby my car is, then did not step on the brake and BANGG on my car. SHIT!!! As I was talking to Siew Li and told her 'NEver in my life so bad luck 1, 2 days 2 accident on my back car. Now my car looks like a bumper car as you seen in the theme park but the guy was pretty steady as after bang my car, he directly took the wallet out and ask me how much I need. Just took some money from him as he said ask me to take to repair he will bear the cost of it.

Then quarrel with my very best friend. A total argument of misunderstanding.

Then lastly followed by termination of my current job. So left me now I am 'JOBLESS'.

Hoping that this BAD things happen before my birthday, and let the bad luck 1 go go go ..
and the good luck will come in a row after my b'day ...

&

The good one, I am greatfull to have a friend who stood by my side most of the time where is so irreplaceable, my the other 2 wonderfull friend SL & YY, my buddies from Pg, HKS... then the rest of you out there as I cant list the whole thing down and it will be long long list. Guys, thanks for being there.

Also would like to say thanks to all my lovely friends who send me sms and facebook wall msg. Love you guys!~!~!~!

~Happy Birthday to myself~

My Burfff Day part 2~

Posted by Taufulou | | Posted On at 1:00 AM

A suprise given by very very bestie, Siew Li and Yeong Yong. It was really a surprise as we had organise a BBQ by the poolside on that day. Then as I was sitting inside their house watching don know chinese version of the American Idol as was talking with Annie as I asked her alot about the contestants and the rules of how the contestant go through the rounds and to my surprise Siew Li walked out holding the cake and singing birthday songs to me. I was so shocked, as I would not expect that they will do that. It was also pre celebrate as after this they will be going back to Penang for a few days.

A very nice cake they got for me

This is a Lemon Cheeze Cake. By Bread Story if not misaken. The cheeze is quite nice, not too salty yet have lemon taste in there, just mild, not too strong. With sweet strawberries.

Cheng cheng cheng, come come, me a year older liau...**** time really flies, Think back of last year how we celebrated and how we have grown... Geliness of how the year pass.

This is my bestie Siew Li and Yeong, sorry, cant be in here cuz she is the 1 helping me to take the picture. Two of you guys had been helping me alot, and cannot be denied that you guys are the closest friend that I had. Well, think back , we had know each other for 3 years already and it feels more like 20 years we have known. With you guys around, it is always so happening and of course learning and doing things together that makes us so close. I must thank both of you for part of what I am today.

Making a wish, namo namo namo.
1.Of course everyone stay happy & healthy always
2.Of course everyone achieve in what they had dream and wish for.
3. Of course it is SECRET!!!!!

Preparing to savor the cakes. Celaka Annie is already eating it before me but today I learned another culture which is the cakes must be give to the 1 which are more senior. Part of it that the younger people can respect them in the future. As I always thought that the birthday guy/gurl have to eat first before everyone can eat. Annie, so you are the first as you are the eldest. Lol~

Seriously, I got another surprise from them. A gift!!!! I never had such a big gift from them. RAOUL gift. Thank youuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!!~~~~~~~~~~~

This is what is in there. A mini cooper classic cuff link as they know my dream car is to get a Mini Cooper. So this is what they got for me.

A very nice pair of caff ling. Appreciate that, as I know it is very hard to find.
Thank you and many many thank you~!~!~!~

Mom, Dad, thanks for celebrating with me earlier before I head back~ ^_^

My birthday cake filled with cherries and vanilla sponge cake flavoured.

Lunch at 3JC Restaurant @ Sunway Pyramid

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , | Posted On Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 11:12 PM

I was having interview in the morning and do not know where to have lunch and decided to lunch with my nearby friend. So went to this 3JC shop whereby most of the weekend it is packed with people and I was so happy that in the weekdays no one to compete with.

The interior is like a high class kopitiam compare to the old school type.

The first 1 on the left is a grape something as it comes with the lunch set. Then on the right is the 'Herbal Tea' is at RM2.20

This was my order, '3JC in Soup'. This is not a clear soup with home made balls, just forgot to bring up the koey teow. . . The soup taste very nice, it is like they boil it with alot of type secret ingredient inside. Taste sweet of the boiling of chicken bone, and others. The koay teow is smooth. Highly Recommend for soup lover. RM 6.90 for this bowl.

This is the set lunch set. RM 10.90 for it as it comes with a drink. After calculating is it not much difference by the pricing. Nice to be called set lunch set. The taste of the noodle was not that salty, was just nice to blend in with the soup and the noodle.

Italiannies @ The Gardens

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , , | Posted On at 7:22 PM

It was my Burffday around the corner and my friends decided to treat me makan. So have read a few review of Itaniannes before gotten here and my friend they pick this restaurant. First time at this restaurant, the feeling it gives is quite a nice Italian restaurant.

With its nice interior and open concept of Pizza kitchen looks good.

The menu is just like is. Good food which is so much and needed to be shared with every one. LOL~ which is pretty true.

With the promotion by some of the bloggers, so we decided to go for this 4 types of spaghetti

Order the drink as in the menu the picture taken in there looks good. As it is 'Grape Shake'. Then to my suprise, it really taste good. High recommended on this drink. It is very refreshing and feels like pure grape blended and is price at RM8.50 which I think is resonable.

When you were seated down, you will be given this plate of thing which is Vinegar mix with Olive Herb Oil. The reason given to you is to eat with this.

Bread... For me I just spread the butter on the bread and dip it on the olive oil. Taste good but my friend they do not like it.

Start off our meal with 'Marsala Soup' which is a few types of mushroom blended together. The soup is quite thick, with milk taste and you can even bite some of the mushroom pieces. Quite a good opening. RM 12.90 for this.
Followed by this 'Lamb Shank'. It looks good on the display, but honestly it was quite a disappointed dish. It is do not taste good or near tasteless. A lil damm bit of the herb taste, the mash potato taste weird and the lamb meat is medium done which is acceptable, while eating we were complaining and compare to what I had at Alexis is such a huge difference and it cost RM 39.90.

Followed by this 'Bowls of Pasta' . RM29.90

Starting off from left 1. 'Carbonara' the most simple of all food, which I do cant really feel the taste of the creamy sauce on it. Although the sauce is thick but a bit too salty and milky taste.

2. 'Chicken Mushroom' which is a lil bit spicy compare to the rest and with the first bite in it, it taste nite and as the more you it, it do not taste as delicious as the first bite.

3. 'Chicken Lasagna'. It is the best compare to those 3 dish, the skin in the lasagna was just nice, not too thick and cheezy taste is there. The mince chicken meet is nicely cook and bake along with it. The aroma of the taste is perfectly match with it.

4. 'Ciam Bacan Fettucini' tasteless in the taste as I believe they use olive oil to cooked it and we have to add a bit salt ourself to make it a lil edible. Compare to the other 3, it was the worst.

As closing meal of the day, end with a lovely 'Tiramisu' which must not miss in an Italian restaurant. When they serve it out, I told my friends that this must be the best dish for the night. It was freshly made, as I can still see the shining of the cream and about to melt. The first bite of the tiramisu is just makes my closing of the meal the most perfect. Nice fresh cream they are using, and the coffee taste of the bread and the cocoa powder makes it blend in your mouth well. I must say that, to get a nice Tiramisu, this 1 definitely in my A list. Highly recommended. It is only RM16.90 quite cheap for such a big piece.

In a nice restaurant and during weekdays, the service is sure first class. Like a wait or waitress standby, just by you looking at them, they are ready to serve you. Your meal bout to finish, they are about to help you change the plates. Only one thing is very annoying whereby 9.30pm, we did not ask for bills and they just ask us to pay directly without asking first. Total bill comes to RM118.90 which is a bit pricy for the quality of the main course that they are serving. It is like, 'Please pay and bye bye, I want to go back soon' Ish...really hate that. At least notify. For me, I totally BANNED this restaurant for the time being of the food quality. Maybe will try again some where in the future.

Dinner at Michelangelo's @ Mont Kiara

Posted by Taufulou | Labels: , , | Posted On Monday, February 16, 2009 at 1:08 AM

A dinner before heading to Beer Camp. So decided to come here after reading a review from Kennysia few weeks back. It was Valentine's Day, so there were alot of people in every restaurant or every corner for couples to hunt for food. Must say that now days Valentine's day is so commercialise. What ever it is, the pricing is crazee. Flowers, food, drinks and gifts. To me, honestly I would not spend the money on this occasion. I do not mind to be said that I am not romantic for this day only. The money spend can be used to spend on so many stuff which is more meaning full than the day it is.

I must say that, compare with the other restaurant chain they have in Pavilion and Sunway if not mistaken, this branch have quite a classy interior.

For non smokers out there, this would be the kind of place you would like to sit in, if you were to choose your seating's, you can choose upstairs(highly recommended) and outside, good for smokers and with the candlelight on the table and dim lights certainly good for romantic dinner. Not only on Valentine's day.

This is the bar area that they have. You can just drop by and chill at this area. Drinks price, no idea as I did not check it out.

This was under the Valentine's set. In the morning I was criticising my colleague as those who go for Valentine's day set is the stupid one. Guess, I was being stupid also as it was first time in my life doing so. As my friend she lazy to choose then decided to go ahead with the set. Still did not realise that I ordered the set. It comes with 2 glasses of wine. So ordered one red one white.

It start off with the starter. 'Scallop & Oyster'. Must not complain as the plate was so big and the dish is so little. The scallop is fresh and nice along with the green green thing is something grean pea. The deep friend oyster I must say that it taste a bit weird with the dressing or some little thing that they put along when they fried and it took me a minute to finish those 2 things up.

Next, to wash your mouth a bit is the 'Chicken & Herb Soup'. When it serve infront of us, me and my friend were so dissapointed. It feels like you go to a Chinese restaurant and give you the compliment soup to start off with. Lagi worst is the taste of it. Tasteless, so watery yet the colour already turn me of to finish the whole thing but well, still finish the whole thing as I believe in not wasting food.

After finishing the soup, there comes the main course. 'Surf & Turf''. In the menu I thought you can choose what to eat, either each but then when it serve to me, I was so surprise that all 3 in 1. Like Nescafe 3 in 1. I cannot eat beef. Then SHIT..how? cannot waste, so talk to god and ask for discount for today only. The beef was Medium rare but then still taste okay only. tenderness and oily not juice. Regarding on the prawn it was so so only. The best among all those 3 was Chicken breast with barter garlic and butter. Have all the taste as it is mentioning.

Last and for all to close your meal with a sweet desert, tadaaa they r serving 'Strawberry Parfait'. I pink pink thing is sweet and chocolate and strawberry is just as good as it melts. It comes to a price to pay for to get this desert as waited for around 1 hour to get it, not only this, It happens during paying bills. took 15-20 mins to come and 15-20 to get the bills and get the change back.
Overall, I was disappointed with the food quality but certainly will give chance to the ala-cart menu as I feel it is more worth it. AS the meal cost RM184 in total.
